Course not ready
Hot dogs were excellent, course not so much. I played Memorial Day weekend and the weather was excellent - prime time for a golf course in Michigan. I saw the backhoe they were using to move sand into the traps at least 3 times during my round - it was moving giant piles of sand into the middle of the traps. The rough is barely playable if you can locate your ball. This course could be special with a lot of TLC. As is, below average at best - won't be back. Hot dog was amazing - might be back for a hot dog.
Good Day
The course is in good shape for April. Pace was great for a Sunday Morning. Only complaint was nobody on the tee box for 35 minutes and had to wait for my tee time @10:06. Pairing I was scheduled with elected not to play with me so I went off solo anyway. Caught a twosome on 6 and finished my round with them.
Course staff are nice enough and the orange tape on the beer cans is unique. I will come back but will hit the range instead of hanging out waiting /wishing to get out a bit early .
$25 course
Cannot believe they get $39 for 18 on post-labor day weekends with this course. Mediocre at very best.
Help behind the desk acts inconvenienced at patrons check in.
Carts not maintained well at all. Patrons are clueless about keeping pace of play.
The rough was 5-6" tall - hadn't been mowed in quite some time.
The tee boxes hadn't rotated tees all season. Very unlevel and divots deeper than ditches.
The greens however were in descent shape.
Beer cart
Everything was what you'd expect except the cart girl drove by with 2 attempts to flag her in. We never got her to come near us in 18 holes
Excellent condition except for tees
The south course at Hartland Glen is in excellent condition except for the tees (which need a little TLC). Greens are average speed, and the entire course is well-watered and mowed. The south course has plenty of shade on hot days. The mature trees and narrow fairways make it a little challenging, but it's the side my group prefers. We'll certainly go back, and would recommend the course to anyone else.
Great course
Liked the layout of the course and the par 3 were challenging
Fun Course, easily located
The Staff is great, Bob was very friendly, and well maintained course, a fun round.
Hartland Glen
This was well worth the drive to get here. Peaceful and serene are words I would use to describe the feel out here. It's a comfortable round of golf out in nature. It's quiet. There are some great challenges out here, like planet sized sand traps (North course), and just enough water to make you uneasy. The fairways lie out real nice for you, beckoning a quality tee shot. Careful for the overhanging trees.
Food at the turn was decent, good selection of spirits.
The greens were predictable, which is always good! The pace picked up as they dried out, but rolled consistent all day.
This course is a real nice day out. I will definitely be back!
Course is shaping up for a great season
My husband and I played 18 on Friday. The grounds crew was out manicuring the sand traps. The staff was friendly and helpful. It is still early in Michigan to be playing, however the course will be in great shape in a few weeks. Beautiful scenery and the quietness of the course makes it one of our favorite places to play. Get out and play - Spring is back in Michigan!
A great fun course
I don't get to play here often enough. Just happened to play today also and loved it.
Great course
The course conditions were great. Great price for what you get. Friendly and organized staff. Highly recommend this course
Good value
2 different 18 hole courses to choose from. The north course is more forgiving than the south but they are both fun to play. The course conditions are always good and the staff are very friendly.
Good course
Good pace of play small greens and boxes no food on the weekends just dogs
P2
The north course was a nice challenge
Good fairway and green conditions
The women's tee boxes could use some TLC
Not worth the money
Greens do not roll true. Too many ball marks to even try and putt on some greens. Fairways have standing water all over them. The tee boxes are small and have a big humps in the middle so you can have an even lie. For the money I would of expected better. It was my first time there so I may have been there in a bad day.
Good Value for the Money
I played on a Saturday morning. There was a group going out on #16. I played as a single in a little over 2 hours. The twosomes and threesomes in front of me let me play through.
The course is in good shape. The greens were consistent.
