I heart Hartland Glen
A gentle flow to the course. A beginner's to moderate level to the course. There isn't a lot of places to get into trouble meaning woods unless you hit it into the rough. I believe the rough is at least an inch too high. It makes it hard to find your ball even if you are 1/2 foot off the fairway..
Above average public course
Nice course close to home. It's a good deal for the money
Rough going
I would suggest that the rough be brought down to a nominal height. It was so high a ball could not be found right off the fairway and probably as high as 10-12' in many areas. If I want to play a challenging course I would not be booking here and for a fun day of golf I would like to find my ball without so much difficulty in the tall rough. This was the South Course by the way.
Should of brought a hammock
Got in 13 holes before sheer boredom made us walk off the course. If you cannot hit the ball more than 30 yards please stick with par 3 courses or shuffle board. Also, the greens were just about as slow as the pace of play.
fun day
Good place to play for higher score players.I will play here again
Nice track
Better than expected - nice variety of holes - greens in great shape for this time of year.
Will come back.
Needs Attention
We played the North course on 10/16/13, and I was quite disappointed in the overall course conditions. We have played the Glen before, and I do understand that is is fall and there will be some leaves on the course, but they had done absolutely nothing to clean or blow the leaves at all, and we had difficulty finding our well placed shots all day. In addition, several of the greens had a large amount of debris on them and we were unable to putt without our ball bouncing around like a pinball machine. Look, if the course is going to be open and charge money to play it, then they need to take care of and keep it playable. I will be in no rush to play here again.
Poorly maintained greens and fairways.
Poorly maintained greens and fairways. Need to better maintain these features.
Greens were in excellent condition and fast!!!
Very impressed with this course will most likely buy a membership next year. Greens were in the best condition I have seen in a long time. Will recommend this course to anyone.
Decent course
This year the greens have been rock hard and require attention. I've also never seen so much dead and clumped grass on a golf course before. Hartland Glen used to be an almost pristine course in my opinion, but they have let things go since then.
Surprised by Greens
Played the north, not sure how the south plays. Nothing amazing, but a good course. $10 hot deal made it a great purchase. The greens were tight and rolled nicely.
Great Course for the Money!
The course is very well maintained and the staff is great!!
Good gold course
Good course for the for 15 plus handicappers. Well maintained and with two courses it's pretty easy to get a tee time.
good course for long hitters
I have never played the North course, only the South course. My preference is the South. The North is just way too long for me. I don't know a single woman that can get on a par 4 in regulation when it is 380 yards - for me that is easily a par 5. Other than that, though, my husband loved it (he's a big hitter) and it was well taken care of and the staff were super friendly. It's a great course - just not for shorter hitters.
Hit em straight
Good course, very tight, alot of woods but great challenge.
Solid
This course is pretty solid in my opinion. It is in pretty good condition except for some standing water in some places (probably due to the huge downpours this area has experienced in the last few days). The greens don't break that much which makes the course a bit easier, although bunkers and hazards are placed in what seemed like just the right spots throughout the course, making miss-hits costly. All in all I would go back if I lived in the area.
Very nice course
I have been to Hartland Glen a handful of times and I love the south course. It's right up the road from my house and because the course is set so far back from M-59, it is serene and quiet that I feel like I'm far away. Nice local course.
