West at Gull Lake View Golf Club and Resort

About
Situated in southwest Michigan's beautiful lake region, Gull Lake View Golf Club offers five championship courses that are easily accessible from Detroit, Toledo, Chicago, Grand Rapids, and Lansing, making it a favorite for golfers from all over the Midwest and Great Lakes. It is also less than 3 hours from some parts of Canada. Gull Lake View West is the club's original course. The club is the oldest and largest in southwest Michigan and it all started with the West Course. Opened in 1963, the golf course has a traditional layout that offers a challenging but fair test. The natural terrain takes center stage on this course. The layout plays across grassy meadows, rolling hills, and valleys and there are also a few densely wooded holes. The diverse terrain calls for a variety of different shots as well as careful strategy.

Unhappy with the back 9
Front 9 conditions were great! Back 9 was horrible wet muddy just a mess fairways were tore up! I have grown to expect more from this course. Just didn’t live up to my expectations!
Pace of play and design at question
What’s a better way to start a back 9 then wait for over 30 minutes to tee off on 10. Taking forever to complete the back nine we considered multiple times just quilting the round(something we have never done before). The course was in good conditions but lots of unfair golf holes. The design tried to use the terrain and elevation but did not work to its advantage. A would never recommend this course to anyone unless for a really cheap deal under $20.
Great course. Over booked and extremely slow pace of play
Excellent Course!
Great course on a great day! Pace of play was okay; very friendly group of eight allowed us to play in front of them. We thanked they profusely! Course was a little soggy on the back nine, some cart path only holes. Groundskeepers were aerating the greens, and sanding them behind us. That's okay, but I wish there was some way that Golfnow could let people know about this ahead of time? Great course, and definitely will be back!
Little Wet, Great Shape
Rained a lot before we went out. Course still in great shape.
Great course
This was a great course. The weather didn’t cooperate as the fog didn’t lift until the back 9. But overall it’s a great course.
