Chemung Hills Golf Club
About
Established in 1927, Chemung Hills Golf Club is one Livingston County's oldest courses. The classic design has withstood the test of time beautifully and it is still considered one of the area's toughest public courses. The layout stretches across lush, rolling hills that are dappled with mature trees. Chemung Hills is known almost as much for the beautiful scenery as it is for the challenging design, which is characterized by its elevation changes. The ups and downs on the course range from subtly tricky to dramatic and intimidating. The layout has a player-friendly mix of short and mid-length holes, even all of the par 5s are reachable. Though you may not need length, your shots will need to be straight and accurate. You'll face blind shots on several holes. Strong iron play will be generously rewarded on this tough golf course.

Fantastic all around
Starting with the staff, and ending with dinner after the round, Chemung Hills is the best golf course for value, and friendliness you'll play. The course itself is in great shape, even with the challenges they've faced this year.
Mike and Brigid are great people. They manage the facility like a Christmas gathering at the grandparents, very welcoming and like family. Their staff from the pro shop the the clubhouse restaurant and bar, are obviously following their team leaders. Great service!
The course itself has elevation, very tough but fair green complexes, and excellent conditioning, even with a dry spring and mechanical issues with their pumphouse for watering.
All in all, a fantastic value all around.
Great course
First time playing here and I will definitely return. The gentleman in the pro shop was very friendly and gave me some tips that helped. Early tee time so the pace was perfect. Course is in very good condition. Tee boxes may have been the worst part, but they are not bad at all. The greens are firm but not unfair. They were undulating and quick, and they rolled true. Playing it a couple more times would be nice because a couple false fronts got me. I used almost every club in the bag, with a couple fairway woods and long irons off the tee. I highly recommend this course!
Great day of golf
Everything here is in great condition to the greens n fairways with some challenge to as well but its always a great place to play n fun as well and if u like a challenge.
Good value overall
The course layout is very nice. More challenging that it initially appears. Greens were a bit brown and dry, but it's early and are generally in great shape with a little speed to them.
Pace of play can be a big issue here unfortunately. The starter does basically nothing but check receipts doing very little to get groups off in a timely manner. My tee time was 11:30 and I hit my first shot just after noon. This is a common occurrence.
The first 3 or 4 holes are always a total cluster here. It will often pick up after that but without a ranger pace of play will grind to a halt at some other point in the round likely. Very common to have a group backing things up with many open holes in front of them, yet they don't let anyone pass.
The nice layout and typically nice greens make the price worth it but just know it might not be a smooth round. Most of the staff here is super friendly and very welcoming.
Better Than Expected
I played the this course last Summer 2020 and I thought it was in better shape this time around. I was surprised at how quickly the greens were rolling and in fact I didn't leave one putt short the entire day which is unlike me. The bunkers were soft even though most golfers still don't rake their traps.. Once Summer 2021 gets here I would expect this course to be in really good condition.
Why Doesn’t Tony want my money?
Challenging track with excellent greens but not worth putting up with the nasty staff with so many other good options in the area.

Lovely November day and the course was in great shape. Old course with excellent blend of short and long par 4 holes. Greens have great contours and are quick.
To much Money
They charged 30 bucks for 18 hole . What ever happen to winter rates . They also charge 10 dollars for someone to just ride in a cart .

We are working to get everything at the course up to par. We have a project to tile the bunkers and restore them. The current condition is not the standard we strive to achieve. We are going to escalate your feedback to our team so we can make improvements before your next game. We are glad to see you rated the course layout to be great during your game. We will continue to work towards an excellent experience by using your comment for guidance. Thank you for playing Chemung Hills Golf Club. We hope to see you again soon.
