About
Established in 1927, Chemung Hills Golf Club is one Livingston County's oldest courses. The classic design has withstood the test of time beautifully and it is still considered one of the area's toughest public courses. The layout stretches across lush, rolling hills that are dappled with mature trees. Chemung Hills is known almost as much for the beautiful scenery as it is for the challenging design, which is characterized by its elevation changes. The ups and downs on the course range from subtly tricky to dramatic and intimidating. The layout has a player-friendly mix of short and mid-length holes, even all of the par 5s are reachable. Though you may not need length, your shots will need to be straight and accurate. You'll face blind shots on several holes. Strong iron play will be generously rewarded on this tough golf course.

Chemung Hills
This is a very good public course. Nice layout and challenging. Picturesque. When the restaurant is in full swing, the food is great.
greens ridiculous
Course in very good shape but the greens, although in fine shape, are stupidly sloped and impossible to putt on. Like playing miniature golf but missing the clowns mouth. We won't be back
Too slow
Took way too long to just 9 holes in we ended up finishing and not playing back 9. Couldn’t get money back as we used golf now.
Weren’t happy with how they booked so many people in a small time frame.

Pace of Play
The course is in okay condition and it can be challenging if you mist the fairway. My real complaint was the pace of play. 4some in front of us was very slow but not to be outdone by the 5 some in front of them which had a two-hole gap between them and the group in front. No marshalls or rangers were evident. 4.5 hours and we had to quit after 15.

Poor service and course design
The rudest check in for a tee time I’ve ever had in my life. The man at the desk wasn’t friendly, offered no information as far as cart situation and where the first tee was located which isn’t in sight from the clubhouse. The other issue I ran into was the fact that they have a driving range next to a busy road and runs parallel to one of the holes with no netting. The fairway was covered in range balls and we were too afraid to even find our ball and play that hole for fear of being hit. The main road on the other side of the driving range is covered in balls and as I drive this road daily it’s only a matter of time before someone smokes my car as I drive by. Very poorly planned driving range.

A friend recommended this course to me do I played it for the first time. The gentleman in the pro shop was very welcoming and extremely friendly. I was playing as a single and he told I was being paired up for my tee time. He said there was a twosome on the tee box now if I wanted to get out early. He called the starter and I was able to get out early. The starter was very helpful and gave some course tips before I headed out. The course was in great shape for tee to green. I was very pleased and will definitely be back!!!
