Chemung Hills Golf Club
About
Established in 1927, Chemung Hills Golf Club is one Livingston County's oldest courses. The classic design has withstood the test of time beautifully and it is still considered one of the area's toughest public courses. The layout stretches across lush, rolling hills that are dappled with mature trees. Chemung Hills is known almost as much for the beautiful scenery as it is for the challenging design, which is characterized by its elevation changes. The ups and downs on the course range from subtly tricky to dramatic and intimidating. The layout has a player-friendly mix of short and mid-length holes, even all of the par 5s are reachable. Though you may not need length, your shots will need to be straight and accurate. You'll face blind shots on several holes. Strong iron play will be generously rewarded on this tough golf course.

Can't beat the staff.. All friendly and helpful.
It rained the night before and some parts of the course were soggy. Shot in the 40's.... that was the temperature! All in all a good day of golf at a good course. My next review will be for a Florida course!!
Chemung raves
Abtotal , happy surprise! We kept talking about the architecture ...stunning. Great greens!
Solid course
it’s a solid course for the price. Some of the holes are odd, you can probably get away without driver for half the holes but the greens were in really good shape. No cart girl on Sunday which I don’t understand but it was mid-September so maybe they were short-staffed.
Fun coarse, nice greens
This coarse is a lot of fun, but you better hit it straight especially on the back nine. These greens are special. They are in great shape but on the back nine more undulations are present creating even more challenges. The staff is great, the golf carts are very good with ball and club washer on it.
Well maintained, great restaurant
Course is in great shape this year. Tee boxes could use some attention and greens could be firmer, but overall (and especially for the price) very well maintained. First half of the front side is a little gimmicky, lot of blind shots, but then opens up into a good test of golf. Food in the on-site restaurant is quite good, a lot better than most 19th hole offerings.
Beautiful course
This is a very scenic golf course. Hilly views with mostly ample fairways and not so large greens; the course was in very good condition. I found that a number of shots from the tee looked a little intimidating but found that you could easily over power the course that has really only several very challenging drives. The length of the course was a short enough to drop to 3, 5,7 metal or even long irons to better manage some tight fairways or short doglegs.
Now, that I have a better understanding of the course layout, which I really like a lot, I will return but with a plan to use better course management.
I came from Florida and think I am a little better at understanding what is to me visually challenging.
This is a great course that will probably grow on you.
playing the course
love the course great scenery 10th hole is my favorite pace of play was good will go again
Slow play
Had 3 foursomes of women ahead of us slowest play ever quit after 15 holes. Nice ciourse but willl never play there again.
Pace of play
Very disappointed with 3 1/2 hour 9 holes. Backed up on every hole on a weekday morning. We got off at 11:25 with a 11:00 tee time and just dragged all morning. No beverage cart no wardens on the course. The group ahead of us did what we did and went to the club house after 9 holes and asked for a rain check. We paid $24 for 18 with a cart and the policy was to return to us $4 each. Didn't make me happy at all and although I have played this course before and liked it I probably will not be back. Raincheck policy is very poor.
Vert Nice
Chemung Hills should be on your list of must play courses in Livingston County.
The course is wonderful shape for mid July. It's challenging enough for the low handicappers and forgiving enough for everyone else.
A whole lot better now
I golfed this course a few years ago and eh. Now it is much nicer and a steal with my hot deal I got. Definitely coming back.
Good variation
I like any variation holes. Width view, narrow and up-down, I could fun to play. But pace of play was slow.
