Established in 1927, Chemung Hills Golf Club is one Livingston County's oldest courses. The classic design has withstood the test of time beautifully and it is still considered one of the area's toughest public courses. The layout stretches across lush, rolling hills that are dappled with mature trees. Chemung Hills is known almost as much for the beautiful scenery as it is for the challenging design, which is characterized by its elevation changes. The ups and downs on the course range from subtly tricky to dramatic and intimidating. The layout has a player-friendly mix of short and mid-length holes, even all of the par 5s are reachable. Though you may not need length, your shots will need to be straight and accurate. You'll face blind shots on several holes. Strong iron play will be generously rewarded on this tough golf course.

Old style course

In a good way, Chemung Hills is a course from the past. Tight fairways, some par 4s that you leave the driver in the bag, smaller greens etc. I enjoyed playing this course very much. The fairways and greens were in good shape. The tees could use some work but out of the 3, I would gladly take good fairways and greens over tees. I would certainly play it again.

Lots of Elevation change

Chemung Hills indeed has a lot of hillls. The land is very interesting as you will find yourself hitting off an elevated tee on many of the holes.

The greens are very interesting with lots of undulation, but can be a bit hard.

The back nine is a great set of challenging holes and I enjoyed every one of them.

Overall good course for the money.

Course has many different evaluations and bind shots to the green. You must be able to hit the ball straight and accurate distance.

Foursome enjoyed the round. Tight course and many hazards. I would play it again.

Still the same

Our golf league played at Chemung for 3 years and for 3 years everyone was looking for course improvements. Promise's from the course were never followed thru with. After not playing there for 4 years, I returned to play with my son. Same Ol Chemung. Terrible condition. Got a great deal from Golf Now, but will NOT RETURN to Chemung.

No range officer

Course was over booked. First time I walked off a course before finishing a round. 20+ minute wait at each hole.

Horrible Experience

OK, so here goes. I have been playing golf for over 15 years, and I did something on a golf course that I have never done...more on that later. Lets start off with the positives. Chemung Hills is a pretty nice track and it is quite tight and challenging. The greens were in awesome shape and rolled really nice. We paid $20 and that should be a good deal. HOWEVER; when we got to the first tee, there were 3 groups in front of us waiting to go off...NOT 1, NOT 2, but 3!! So we waited....and we waited...and we waited. Finally, we were able to tee off 25 minutes late, and that was just the beginning. We waited 10-20 minutes on every tee box and finished our first 9 holes in just over 3 hours. I have never been so frustrated....until the back 9. We got the the 14th hole and saw the back up of 2 groups in front of us and decided that we had had enough. It was now just about 5 hours into our round and we were only on hole 14, so we decided to call it a day. We passed one group in front of us and told them we were quitting, and they also shared their frustration. Later, while we were putting our stuff away in the parking lot, we saw that same group as they decided to call it quits too. I have never quit in the middle of a round because of the slow pace of play; I just couldn't take it any more. Needless to say, I will cross Chemung Hills off of my list for any future play....STAY AWAY!!

I'll Be Back

It's a nice course...with friendly and tough holes . Very nice scenery too, especially on the "new" nine! :)

My only "complaint"... the tee boxes need some work.

Wow!

It is a bit of a drive from the city, but more than worth it. Master this course and you can have the confidence to play anywhere. Great greens roll fast and true. Hilly terrain and layout will keep you thinking. A must play.

good course

For the most part the course is well maintained with the exception of a couple of holes, I would not play this course without utilizing Golf Now due it being overpriced at a regular rate. Over all I enjoyed playing there and have played there a few times and will continue to go back as long as their are tee times available on Golf Now,

Very demanding course. Gotta hit the fairways and greens. A must.

Enjoyed the course immensely. Most challenging course I've played in MI. Demands every club in the bag and a caddie on some holes.

The course was a good one for anyone who wants a challenge.

The course was in great shape. It has some challenging holes such as a PAr 3 on i believe 11, where you are blind of the green and hit into a bowl shaped green. Key to the course is to follow the booklet and read it. It tells you ideally where to play you shots. It becomes target golf closer to the holes as bunkers are well played out.

Greens roll true! Tight fairways

A short course but not one that can be overpowered. Tight fairways and small greens. Conditions are fair but the greens are above average. Would play it again.

overbooked. 25min delay on first tee. 12 holes in 4.5hrs

we started out waiting and finished 12 holes in 4.5 hrs and went to club house to complain and they told us to ask golf now.com for a refund. We went home after 12 holes disgusted. My friends from out of town were not impressed and i promised never to take them to chemung hills again.

Great bang for your buck.

Love playing Chemung. Great staff, great amenities and all for a great price. I call it my home-track for a reason, and this is long before I started using GolfNow. Highly recommend snapping up any deals you can get.

This course has fun and challenging holes.

Played this course many times and always enjoy the layout. Greens are kept up well. There are plenty of opportunities to find water or OB.

Very Busy....rushed

This course was very busy for a Tuesday early afternoon. The holes all run side by side with very narrow fairways. It was challenging but the pace was slow. Don't think I would go back.

Nice course, greens were in good shape.

The course itself was in very nice shape, including the greens. However, it took over 5 hours for our twosome to play. Very crowded with very slow play, especially for a weekday, with no rangers on the course and no beverage cart until after 4 pm.

Worthwhile

One will play every club in your bag on this hilly course. There are lakes, woods, traps and slopes to deal with to keep one focused. Then the greens have some awesome slopes and steep grades to get your attention. Be sharp, be satisfied by playing this tract.
