Chemung Hills Golf Club
About
Established in 1927, Chemung Hills Golf Club is one Livingston County's oldest courses. The classic design has withstood the test of time beautifully and it is still considered one of the area's toughest public courses. The layout stretches across lush, rolling hills that are dappled with mature trees. Chemung Hills is known almost as much for the beautiful scenery as it is for the challenging design, which is characterized by its elevation changes. The ups and downs on the course range from subtly tricky to dramatic and intimidating. The layout has a player-friendly mix of short and mid-length holes, even all of the par 5s are reachable. Though you may not need length, your shots will need to be straight and accurate. You'll face blind shots on several holes. Strong iron play will be generously rewarded on this tough golf course.

Public course maintained like a private country club!
Chemung hills is a great golf course, awesome elevations, great scenery and design! Fairways and green are in excellent condition! I give it a solid A! You cannot go wrong at chemung hills!
Nice layout but greens were somewhat ragged. Slow pace for a Friday.
The course had a relatively good layout but the greens were ragged and did not roll true. also inconsistent. Pace was slow
Tough course
My tee shots are in the 220 - 240 range. They put a lot of trouble in those areas on several holes. The greens are like glass. You do not want to land the green above the hole! Sand traps are actually sand - somewhat challenging but not impossible. You can take the cart almost anywhere on the course -- a plus for a spray & pray hitter like me :)
One tee shot that could be very disconcerting (#10 I think) -- an high, elevated, tee over a very steep scrub field then over 4 rows of parking. The lot was empty when we played and I cleared the lot easily - but WOW!
Very nice course. shot makers will do well. We'll go back for sure.
This was our first time and wasn't familiar with the layout. Should score better next time. Tree across cart path on #15 looked like it may have been for a while?6
Quite hilly
The course was in fine shape greens were pretty fast
Alright Course
This course wasn't anything special. If you are looking to play some "cheap" golf go here.
course was in very nice condition
course was in very nice condition pace of play. Was almost six 6 hours
Course was in good condition
Greens were excellent very fast just how I like them.
Great course, great value
This course has the friendliest staff, from the pro shop to the cart return associates, I genuinely felt welcomed! The course itself has a great mixture of easier and challenging holes, with many elevated tee boxes overlooking the landing areas. Definitely not a course the typical golfer would want to walk, and I recommend you get a cart. Overall a beautiful course at a great price with a friendly staff.
a must play with golfnow.com
paid $11ea. with cart and bucket of balls thanks to the hot deal of the day. wow, what a deal. the weather was not our friend, light rain the whole time. but the course was great. some areas are tight, but most of it is wide open. a little bit for every skill level.
A shot makers course that doesn't necessarily benefit the long hitters.
The greens are extreme, with many of them having huge undulation and false fronts. Placement is critical for approach shots.
nice layout. lots of up, down, left an right
the course was in fair condition, but there was a very unfair pin placement on the 16th hole. it was cut directly on the center of a hill, on the back left corner of the green, with no spot to stop the ball. a missed putt resulted in a minimum of an 8 footer, but most likely a 10-12 footer. there was one 2 putt, two 4 putts, and a 6 putt in my foursome on that hole. thats a bit unfair. other than that, it was great
Good Experience - will be back
This is a nearby course for me...always a pleasant round there. The golfnow pricing made this an extreme value on a nice fall day for golf in Michigan.
love golf
This course was a joy to play. Its a older course with a lot of elevation changes, rolling hills and receptive greens. It was nice to hit shots into greens and have them hold. The speed of the greens were quick and consistent. The course had its share of risk and reward holes. The holes in the wooded areas were tight driving holes requiring accuracy off the tee to have a quality second shot to the green. Playing from the tips added quite a bit of distance and obstacles. Once again this course was a pleasure to play and beautiful.
good value
nice course, the greens were a little slow and other players did not repair ball marks
