Wallinwood Springs Golf Club
About
Wallinwood Springs Golf Club is bordered by the scenic Grand River on its eastern side. The challenging layout boasts an island green, an island tee, and a peninsula fairway. The golf course has two distinctly different nines, beginning with an open Scottish-links layout before moving onto the back nine, which is enclosed by mature trees. Wind definitely plays a role on the front nine and on the backside of the course there is a 26-acre, man-made lake, where if you're not careful you'll be met with a watery grave on five holes. Extensive mounding is paired with 30 strategically placed sand traps to provide even more challenges. The most difficult hole on the golf course is the par-4 16th, which stretches to more than 400 yards. Golfers will need a long, straight drive from the island tee in order to avoid the water on both sides of the fairway.

Good solid Course
For the first time playing it was a pretty nice course. I will definitely play it again. Couple tricky holes like 17 that’s almost not fair. Besides that had a great time, great people on and off the course and a really friendly staff. Tell Sarah she did while making our vodka tonics
Disappointed with course and cart conditions.
I have played this course a couple times this year but won't go back. The back 9 can be challenging as water comes into play often, the potential for a nice course is there. On the negative side, the cart paths are in very bad conditions and are difficult to drive on. The sand traps are either covered in heavy grass or have numerous stones and pebbles in them which makes playing out of them impossible...unless you want to ding up your clubs. Had the grounds keeper follow us for the whole back 9 on mower (seemed like we were hitting around or over him every hole). This made it difficult to enjoy the round as a mower was running near the tee box constantly.
We had the golf cart die on the fifteenth hole after having issues with it most of day. Called clubhouse and was told to lift up seat and hit components with an iron and it should start again. This did not work...eventually someone came out with a replacement but we had to let other golfers pass us while we waited.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. We would love to know how we can earn those last two stars next time! Thanks for playing Wallinwood Springs Golf Club.
Harder than one might think
Staff is kind, course in good condition - greens are speedy. Mosquito repellent is nice to have. Fabulous hot dogs! High grass sometimes consumes balls, but that’s Michigan. I love the added tchotchkes at the Tees. Would recommend to friends.
Incredibly disappointing
I've played this course numerous times over the past 25 years. It's been a year or two since my last trip. And this will have been my last. The front nine has deteriorated but is playable. However, the back nine is in horrible shape. I understand previous flooding from the river will have affected a hole or two but...some holes it is difficult to tell if/where the fairway is. Greens are inconsistent. Traps unattended. There are just too many other courses in the GR area to play to even consider going back here. The clubhouse is run down on the outside and appears it may not have been updated on the inside since I had my wedding reception here 25 years ago shortly after they built the place. Our golf cart was loud and required pushing down on the gas peddle 3+ times each time to get it to go. The whole place takes on the appearance that it is about to go under. Which is sad because it use to be such a fun challenging course.

Great course
Would definitely recommend this spot to friends and family!
Great track for the money
Club house is dated, but clean. Course is open & was in great condition. Would definitely go back.
Good for value
Good course for the value. Front 9 in good condition but the back 9 a bit rough. Sand traps aren’t kept up and pretty grassy/weedy.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting Wallinwood Springs Golf Club, and we hope to see you again in the future.
Back nine closed
Tell us back 9 is closed prior. Also, sand traps in worst condition of any course I’ve been on. Make some coffee for your clients in am
