Great, Traditional Country Club Course
The layout is very classic. The greens are super quick but very predictable. The course allows you to score if you control your shots. There are very few blind shots. The sand is easy to recover from but placed in places to punish you for your mistakes. Staff is always great and it has very nice facilities and outdoor dining. Only complaint is small range to warm up on. Usually can't use your woods.
Great Classic Course, Stunning Clubhouse
I had an opportunity to play this course a few times over the past week for a GAM tournament and was not disappointed. The course is almost 100 years old and is what you would expect from a classic parkland style course with tighter tree lined fairways and quick greens. There's over 50 bunkers which put a premium on accuracy but there very playable and I had no problem advancing my ball to the green out of any fairway bunkers. The course reminded me of Warwick Hills (Grand Blanc) just slightly shorter. This course is private and very hard to get on to but if I was given the opportunity I would gladly come back. The only negative of the club is the Driving Range, there's really no room for one that extends over 225 yards and it made it difficult to warm up for a tournament round without a driver.
