Downing Farms Golf Course

Fun course. This course had bunkers minus the SAND.

This course was in great condition today, I'm glad I came out. There greens were fast and true, my lag putts stopped right next to the hole. My driving has improved, so it made playing three course a lot easier. I would love to play on a league here. The course layout where I play now is terrible. Downing Farms is a great place to improve your overall golf game.

Good course for the price, have golfed it before. It was just way backed up this day so that wasn't fun at all. It's maintained ok, again it's worth the price.

I keeping hoping they improved but miracles have bypassed this course. Little money invested!

Was able to tee off early only to find 4 teens on the box. One was a girlfriend and was not playing. They took their time as though they had nothing better to do. Took 20 minutes to tee off. Waited on the box for 15 more till they cleared the fairway. Once I got to my ball it took another 15 to play my second. Oh, not to mention that they drove up Next to the green. Next hole not one had teed off. One was actually teeing up the ball for his buddy . I don't know why.

had enough and skipped the hole. Caught another group of teens 2 holes later. same scenario,. 20 yard tee shots into the crap, 10 minute search . Skipped that hole.

Not much good to say. 7 tee box is a joke. Platform turf tee box has seen better days. Tee boxes in general show no maintenance, dead spots in fairways, and overall appearance shows nobody really cares.

Men's bathroom in clubhouse was backed up and unusable. No attempt to clean it up.

Overall, if your a beginner it may be the the place for you if you don't care about conditions or pace. Staff needs to educate younger players about etiquette and check IDs to make sure they indeed are old enough to operate carts. Most courses have An age policy,

Best if the owners would sell and allow developer's to build more million dollar homes and retire to Florida.

Family owned operation! The entire family is super friendly, helpful, and supportive…even checking up on us numerous times while on the course. The course is well maintained and beautiful. No sand in the bunkers so they were just deep green hills. Pace of play was great! Amenities were excellent, and the the staff made the experience extra special. Will definitely be returning!!

We were able to get on right before the leagues started. Initially we were behind some young, very slow boys. After the second hole, they let us play through, and it was wide open after that for us. I have to say that doesn’t usually happen there, as it’s a busy place! Made for a great, easy round, though!

Had a fun time. 18 holes plus cart $25 Great value for the occasional golfer.

This is an extremely cheap course, great deal for the price. For the price point absolutely no complaints. Staff is very friendly!

For the money, a great little hidden track. Some challenging holes, and empty enough that it’s beginner-friendly. Staff was great… Even though they were out of power, they made everything work.

I went with my 16 year old son, his buddy and his dad who I’m buddies with. First time at the course, really beautiful nature all around you, nice and quiet and serene. I really liked the course and thought it played great. Enjoy!

The pace of play at Downing Farms is absolutely atrocious. It is easily the slowest playing course in all of south east Michigan, and arguably the slowest in the whole state. My tee time was at 12:08. By 12:58, I was still waiting to hit my tee shot on the 3rd hole. That’s 50 minutes for 2 holes, resulting in a 7.5 hour round. This is as a single, mind you. If you mention the pace of play to the staff, expect some serious attitude coming back your way. They are unwilling to accept any accountability when it comes to overbooking and will insist it is YOU at fault for wanting to play at a reasonable pace. Your shoes will get muddy, not from the course, but because the parking lot isn’t big enough to fit everyone they’ve booked, and your only other option for parking is a massive mud pile off to the side. The rangers are non-existent; they do not do anything to help pace of play. The course itself is a fun little course that is pretty well maintained and is great for shooting low. I played this course nearly twenty times last year, and it was great. Pace of play was decent and the staff was friendly. This year is a compete different story. Unless they make it somehow possible to finish a round here in under 6 hours, I wouldn’t recommend playing here. Your time would be better spent hitting off a mat in an empty field.

I really enjoy the course. Great layout. The course would be much more challenging if the sand traps were still sand traps.

Although the course has a few rough spots they do not affect play. The tees are good but the greens are perfect. The staff are very friendly and it is always a pleasure to play here.
