Myth Golf & Banquet - Regulation Course
About
The Myth Golf & Banquet, formerly known as Beaver Creek, tumbles across rolling hills. Situated next to Lake Orion, the golf course sits on protected land that is home to an abundance of wildlife, including sandhill cranes. There is both an 18-hole championship course and a nine-hole par-3 course. In 2007, when the Myth was established, several improvements were made to the championship layout, improving its conditions and making it more challenging. The scenic golf course features boardwalk cart paths that cut through beautiful pine forests. Don't get too distracted by the scenery though because there is plenty to keep you busy including multi-tiered greens and water hazards on almost every hole. The 13th is the golf course's signature hole. This par 3 plays from an elevated tee over water to a generous green, offering a great opportunity for a birdie.

Hole 13, fun par 3 Photo submitted by Tait2dn on 05/09/2013
Short course needs work on the greens.
I played the par 3 executive course. The greens were in bad shape - lots of bare spots. Cart paths were not marked. I didn't know where the next tee was. It was, however, challenging.
Target Golf, good value
lots of water, lots of blind shots. Not a course to get out your driver and blast away. greens and fairways were in great shape.
A few of the greens have crazy slopes if you are on the wrong side of the hole. Overall this course was a good value and fun to play.
I would play again.
Play was slow but can't blame the course for slow players, the ranger did push the groups ahead of us. The tee boxes need some attention, the rest of the course is in very good shape.
great for the money
this course has a lot of character and for the price is very nice. multiple water hazards and hills make it challenging and fun. greens roll pretty slow but all in all a great course
Challenging layout, but rough around the edges
This is not a 5-Star course, but is a very fun and challenging layout for a reasonable price. Paid $27 for 18/cart during prime time on a Saturday.. better than most courses in the area. Many very interesting and challenging holes. Sometimes the holes are pretty close together (you'll hear 'fore' a lot is the course is crowded), but at least it's visually appealing and not surrounded by houses. If you can get a deal, it's worth trying.
Very good course to play but carry more balls :-)
You can see dog leg left and right fairways also some are par 6.
Greens are very tough and the course is in good shape!
I am a fairly new Golfnow.com user and was extremely delighted with the value and ease of using this application. My friend and I played 18 holes w/ cart for $9 each, which was normally $24. Great service, great golf, great price!!! Thank you Golfnow.com...who says golfing has to be an expensive sport???
Not very different but fun
Didn't have many exciting holes, pretty standard 18 hole course. It's a little short, had no problems reaching par 5s in 2 or par 3s with short irons. Fun time though, played quick, not too busy.
this course was a great find
the course was in great shape even in April....Even though the course is surrounded by marsh, it was dry on the places that count,,,enjoy
Great place for a Kolve game
Great course with several very challenging holes. Accommodating club house, and staff. Great pick as a destination for friends, and business associates. Not easy, not difficult. All will come away with a story or two.
Great course
Overall this course is great because of staff, location, condition of course and cost. Maintenance crew have been very busy here and Bruce Hills for the past seven months. Kudos to all. Thanks.
Fun course for the price
Some short holes and some challenging holes that require good shot-making
Not a Good Course
This course was in very rough condition and not taken care of. The pace was slow and the tee boxes were sand, not grass. It looks like they built the course and forgot to put the tee boxes in and just jammed them wherever they could. I would never go to the Myth again and have told friends to golf elsewhere. Also they advertise it as a link style course, which is untrue!
This is not a links course. It is cut out of thick woods, with long cart rides on rickety plank roads green to tee. It can't be walked. Errant shots are very often not found, and play can be generally slower than other comments said. Several tee shots are to blind landing areas, which border other holds, which leads to balls being picked up or played in error by other players.
I agree that the course conditions are less than well manicured. The staff and hospitality are as advertised, and the course has potential. I just hate hitting a relatively decent shot over a hill near the edge of a fairway, and losing the ball. This happened repeatedly each time I've played "the Myth". It's old name Beaver Creek was more appropriate.
