Myth Golf & Banquet - Regulation Course
About
The Myth Golf & Banquet, formerly known as Beaver Creek, tumbles across rolling hills. Situated next to Lake Orion, the golf course sits on protected land that is home to an abundance of wildlife, including sandhill cranes. There is both an 18-hole championship course and a nine-hole par-3 course. In 2007, when the Myth was established, several improvements were made to the championship layout, improving its conditions and making it more challenging. The scenic golf course features boardwalk cart paths that cut through beautiful pine forests. Don't get too distracted by the scenery though because there is plenty to keep you busy including multi-tiered greens and water hazards on almost every hole. The 13th is the golf course's signature hole. This par 3 plays from an elevated tee over water to a generous green, offering a great opportunity for a birdie.

Hole 13, fun par 3 Photo submitted by Tait2dn on 05/09/2013
great value
Best value on Golfnow.
Rickety bridges through the woods, water, wetlands, wildlife, a little bit of everything.
Great up north feel, close to home.
Challenging, but fun course
Pin placements are a bit tricky, but overall a short, enjoyable course.
good value
Much better than what this course was 5-10 years ago. For the money, one of the better plays in the area.
Good Par 3 Course
Good Par 3 course to practice wedge shots and putting - in fair shape - hole lengths from 90 yards to 170 yards - lots of young kids can make pace very slow (be patient) - walk-up green fee was only $7, didn't really need to use Golf-Now (fees made it more expensive).
good with the rate
was good time to play with my friends with the rate.
quite close to the town.
Awesome!!!
The Myth was a pleasent surprise. This is the first time I have played there. The course is beautiful and very well maintained. One of the nicest courses I have played in a long time.
Up north feel
The Myth is as close to being up north as it gets. Highly recommended.
Nice course ruined by slow play
The course itself was nice. The fairways and greens were in good condition, and I found the layout to be challenging, yet very fair. Also, the course is set back in the woods with plenty of wildlife around, giving it the feel of an up north course. A number of the tee boxes were in rough shape. One of them didn't even have grass on it. It was entirely dirt. The biggest problem with the course was pace of play. My wife and I waited 10 minutes on many of the tee boxes. It took over 3 hours to golf 9 holes. That is unacceptable.
bad course with great greens
this course is in need of major maintenance, some tee boxes are only sand, the cart path is like an old fashioned roller coaster & bug bites are guaranteed, but the greens are fantastic.
front nine is more difficult than the back, but either nine is not very long.
my tee time was the deal of the day & i also used the FBBOGO13 code to get 50% off, so it is hard to complain for $11 for 18 with a cart.
Slow play due to bad mangement ranger not doing their job the one in charge trying to mange play from club house instead of on the coursecwont be back
Terrible management cargo needs this manger gone before affects not just this course but the others they own
Good!!
This is my first time to play golf here. This club is good and cheap. The staff is very kind.
Very challenging for novice player
Course is laid out kind of strange. It took me quit a while to find some holes the first time I played. Fairways are narrow, greens are somewhat small. The travel from hole to hole, in some cases, is on a board walk that goes thru wet lands.
Fun but tight
The course was in ok shape. Some of the tee boxes were little more than a mud patch. The cart paths can be a little scary especially when wet. Greens were in pretty good shape. Really tight in some spots but fun.
Great value. Some fun holes. Like the advantage from the ladies tees. Makes me competitive with my husband.

Won't book here again.
I did not know that "Little Myth" meant executive par 3 course and only 9 holes. By not playing this course before, I didn't know that was what "Little" meant. Was very disappointed when I got to the course.
Worth every penny
For only $17 you cant beat it. Course was in overall good shape. Greens were great, although very undulating and pin placements were on some holes ridiculous. Tee boxes were the glaring issue. They definitely need to work on those but overall very impressed.
No ranger...left EARLY!
After playing for 4.5+ hours we finally arrived at the 13th tee box where approximately 5 groups were waiting to tee off. No ranger and too many twosomes that they didn't pair up! Not sure I would play here again. Pretty sad for a weekday round.
Course was in great shape
Haven't played here in a couple years but was very impressed with the condition of the course, great shape all around. Pace of play was good too as our fore-some finished in 4 hours.
Excellent, challenging greens...
The actual course itself is in pretty good shape, and is challenging. The greens, for the most part were in excellent shape.
However, the wooden paths that are driven on have seen better days. They are in very bad shape, and in some area very dangerous to drive on.
Challenging for an average golfer
great value for the money, the course is maintained pretty good. they can use better carts and cart paths. There are multiple hazards on every hole including water before the green and some bunkers. The greens are extremely challenging especially for inexperienced putters.
