Myth Golf & Banquet - Little Myth Par-3

About
The Myth Golf & Banquet used to be known as Beaver Creek before a major renovation in 2007. The former course was transformed into a scenic 18-hole championship golf course and a nine-hole, par-3 course. The courses were redone from the tees to the greens, one major improvement was the removal of all artificial tees. The 18-hole golf course has a traditional but challenging design that is still playable for all skill levels. The short course offers great practice for beginners and it's gentle enough for juniors. It's a good layout for families to play, but more advanced players can also enjoy a fast, casual round of practice. The Myth has a scenic location adjacent to Lake Orion, it sits on protected land that provides a home to a variety of wildlife. Sandhill cranes can often be seen throughout the golf course.

Hole 13, fun par 3 Photo submitted by Tait2dn on 05/09/2013
Not to friendly
The guy in the pro shop should probably be on suicide watch. Easily the most miserable person I’ve encountered in years. The ranger stopped us after we drove past the 13th tee and had to turn around and told us we already played and had to leave. We told him to get bent and that we just finished 12 and paid for 18 holes. After that he proceeded to follow us around for the rest of the back. Nice coarse, but super unfriendly staff.
Good, local, friendly course
The course is on a pretty cut of land with rolling hills and deep vegetation. The course is also challenging by the tightness of the fairways - ensure you keep the ball in control when playing this course! However, the course is dated and needs maintenance. The cart paths are in desperate need of repair and tee boxes need updating. Sand traps were in good overall condition and so were the fairways. I really wish this course, and similar public courses would demand their guests repair ball marks (on traps) and replace divots on the tee boxes and fairways. This course is lackadaisical in this regard as confirmed by not having any seed/sand on the cart or at the tee boxes. Nevertheless, I would play here again while repairing two divots and ball marks left from others in each hole.
95° , 40 minute rain delay
We were a twosome and they paired us with a single.(good player)
It was super hot and muggy. The course was playing soft but still some greens were playing faster than others.
The heat kept the crowds away so we had the course to ourselves.
We had a storm alert sound on 14 that caused a 45 minute rain delay. The staff alowed us to park the cart in the garage until it passed, and we spent the Time in the air conditioned clubhouse.. Then we went back out and finished the last 3 holes.
Super fun round.
Played here before... course was in great shape!
This is a fairly short but challenging course. Have to hit your drives straight. The course was in excellent condition. Best I have ever seen here. We enjoyed the round despite the temperature being in the mid 90s. Will be back.
Horrible Pace
Stuck behind a group that didn't know the game,. waiting for greens to clear on par 4s while not being able to drive over 200. Ranger was useless at enforcing pace, showed him they were playing slow and they told us to relax.
Course was kinda cool but the tee boxes were horrendous. There was maybe one semi-flat tee box the entire round and every single one was shredded to pieces. The fairways were maintained well but the greens could use some work. Not worth $45.
Excellent Plot in need of a makeover
The course is on an excellent piece of land but it is in need of a full makeover. The bridges are under repair over the swamp but the clubhouse and course needs an upgrade. Poor bathrooms. Too many gimmick holes with weird turns or crossover from other holes. Too many tee boxes behind greens. The course needs to upgrade facilities and remap all the holes. Also someone needs to check the machinery as it leaked chemicals all over the greens and burnt them out.
Awful Experience
Worst customer service experience at The Myth. Staff closed the register at 6pm and pressed us to get off the course before our round was over.
Beautiful little gem
This is a shorter course, however, it's filled with challenge. It has rolling hills, water and sand, along with wavy greens. Plenty to give you an enjoyable round. It's a quiet course located in a tranquil area, full of nature.
