Myth Golf & Banquet - Little Myth Par-3
About
The Myth Golf & Banquet used to be known as Beaver Creek before a major renovation in 2007. The former course was transformed into a scenic 18-hole championship golf course and a nine-hole, par-3 course. The courses were redone from the tees to the greens, one major improvement was the removal of all artificial tees. The 18-hole golf course has a traditional but challenging design that is still playable for all skill levels. The short course offers great practice for beginners and it's gentle enough for juniors. It's a good layout for families to play, but more advanced players can also enjoy a fast, casual round of practice. The Myth has a scenic location adjacent to Lake Orion, it sits on protected land that provides a home to a variety of wildlife. Sandhill cranes can often be seen throughout the golf course.

Hole 13, fun par 3 Photo submitted by Tait2dn on 05/09/2013
Great golf course... beautiful!!
One of my favorite places with the best employees.
Much Better Out There
Came to the course from a friends recommendation. Wish I didn’t go honestly. The layout is pretty gimmicky taking driver out of your hands on most holes. I heard “FORE” at least 10 times during the round. Tee boxes were awful and greens needed some work too. Fairways were nice and drinks weren’t overpriced so there’s some good. The course is short and not overly challenging aside from tight fairways and blind shots. Wasn’t my favorite experience.
Car hit by ball
My windshield was shattered in the parking lot by a ball while I played. Turned an already overpriced round into a wildly expensive one. Not to mention I was teeing off on dirt a lot of the round.
Ridiculously slow and zero organization
Playing right now. 3 groups on every tee box, took over 2 hours to play 6 holes. Tee boxes are in awful shape.
If you don’t have 6 hours to play, forget it.
Ranger is barely alive and doesn’t seem to care about pace of play, driven past 4 times.
1st Time, but never again
I've always heard the Myth was great. But honestly after my last round, I will not be going back unless it is 50% off. The greens were horrendous. Your ball would bounce and jump off you line from all of the marks on the greens. Fairways were hard and the grass was dry. We got caught in a rainstorm, which was fine, they did have shelter around the 7th hole, but once the rain left the course didn't drain well and there were many mini lakes on the greens and fairways. Even before the rainstorm the green cups were full of water from the night before. I was looking forward to this course, but after this round, I'll be going to other course with better conditions.
Not to friendly
The guy in the pro shop should probably be on suicide watch. Easily the most miserable person I’ve encountered in years. The ranger stopped us after we drove past the 13th tee and had to turn around and told us we already played and had to leave. We told him to get bent and that we just finished 12 and paid for 18 holes. After that he proceeded to follow us around for the rest of the back. Nice coarse, but super unfriendly staff.
Good, local, friendly course
The course is on a pretty cut of land with rolling hills and deep vegetation. The course is also challenging by the tightness of the fairways - ensure you keep the ball in control when playing this course! However, the course is dated and needs maintenance. The cart paths are in desperate need of repair and tee boxes need updating. Sand traps were in good overall condition and so were the fairways. I really wish this course, and similar public courses would demand their guests repair ball marks (on traps) and replace divots on the tee boxes and fairways. This course is lackadaisical in this regard as confirmed by not having any seed/sand on the cart or at the tee boxes. Nevertheless, I would play here again while repairing two divots and ball marks left from others in each hole.
