About
Brae Burn Golf Club in Plymouth has a traditional layout with a landscape that ranges from gently rolling to wildly undulating. On most holes, elevated tees play to elevated greens. The large, undulating greens usually slope back to front. Golfers will encounter water on 15 holes and the fairways are lined with mature trees. The bunkering is sparse but strategically placed and there are also rough-enhanced moguls protecting the greens, a unique feature at Brae Burn. One tip if it is your first time on the golf course is to study the course diagram beforehand since there are many hidden ponds that come into play on the fairways and greensides. The course's most famous hole is the par-5 13th, nicknamed "The Monster" since it measures a devilish 666 yards. This tricky hole double doglegs to the left and then back towards the right.

Aerated greens
Middle of May and the greens are aerated, makes for a bad round and a waste if money. Spend it elsewhere

Do your job
We booked a time for 4 people, but a friend wanted to bring a girlfriend so we called about the extra cart to which they told us it would cost extra and we said no problem. Show up, and the outing that started 6 hours ago is still huddled around the practice green hogging carts not doing anything. Instead of going and saying something to the group, the man behind the counter just vented about the issue to our group and told us they didnt have enough carts for us to take an extra, even though we had called ahead and asked and were told yes. We then proceeded to have 1 player walking from shot to shot on each hole. Partially our fault, but dont tell us you have a cart for us and then complain to us about why you dont have the extra cart instead of actually proactively doing anything about it. Pace of play was horrendous, a 5 hour round in the late afternoon, front 9 took us 3 hours.

There wasn't a leaf in sight they're keeping it looking amazing right now greens were quick fairways as soft as can be this late in the season

The holes all have a different look. The Monster needs several good shots in a row.

at 605 yds and 2 doglegs this is one tough hole Then they add a pond at one of the dog legs. A real challenge.

Brae Burn
Haven't played the course this year & found the course conditions absolutely perfect. Several in our group felt it was the best conditions we've encountered in the last several years. Greens, fairways & rough in extremely playable condition. Can't wait to return
