Bruce Hills Golf Club

About
Bruce Hills Golf Course is located in the north metro Detroit area near Romeo. Mature trees are scattered throughout the course, providing shade and a peacefully secluded feel. The par-70 layout is relatively short at only 5,630 yards form the back tees, making it an ideal round for beginners but it still provides good practice and a quick round for more advanced players. The golf course sprawls across a diverse terrain that allows for downhill and uphill approaches to the small, round greens, which are often sloped from back to front. Keeping the ball below the hole is the key to scoring well on this golf course. Bruce Hills' player-friendly layout only has four bunkers but water comes into play on 12 holes, providing the bulk of the course's challenges.

Repair
The course was under repair all over the place. It's June, I thought it might look better. However, I know for the price, I should complain, but I did get a hot deal. At $40, it would have felt like an overpay.
Gotten worse every time I have played
Bruce used to be a go to course for me. Right down the road from my house I could be there in less than 15 minutes. I played what I hope to be my last round there today. The only thing worse than the greens and pin placements is the course management. The past few rounds I have played here there have been at least 2-3 greens that I have had to stop putting on because the hole placement resembles one seen on a greens keeper revenge challenge. 5-6 hour rounds are the normal here. It seems there are tee times that go off every 4 minutes which is far too short. Today I was stuck behind an employee that hopped on between two tee times. I paid for 18 holes and chalked it up as a loss after 9 because I couldn’t play there anymore. Such a shame since it is so close to home, but I won’t be playing here anymore unless I hear from someone that it has gotten significantly better.
Great value for money
Great combination of long and short holes. The toughest clearly are hole 7 and 14.. The 8th plays longer most of the time
The green speeds are slightly faster than last year but in reasonable condition
The tree line fairways forces you to keep the ball on the short grass
Starts off gently both front and back but then gets tougher
Missed potential
Could be so nice. Place is on the verge of a hidden gem. Staff wanders around looking lost. Obviously a lack of training and management. Tee boxes were awful. Greens were pretty good. Grounds crew is Obviously working hard and doing a good job. Course is overbooked. Took 4 hours 10 minutes to play 9 holes.
First time playing and the last
Four hours and 47 minutes to play 18 holes today. That is terrible! Ranger was flying around the course all day did not see them moving people along just driving around. Very disappointed and will never be back.
6:48 tee time
We were the first ones to tee off today so I could see how that would make a big difference on pay supply course was in OK condition. Staff was friendly.
Technical Course and Small greens
For $35 hot deal it was good for the money. Greens needed to be rolled it seemed and quite small with serious undulating. Very technical course and tight for the first 14 holes. Areas of repair in May seemed larger than nornal.
