Bruce Hills Golf Club

About
Bruce Hills Golf Course is located in the north metro Detroit area near Romeo. Mature trees are scattered throughout the course, providing shade and a peacefully secluded feel. The par-70 layout is relatively short at only 5,630 yards form the back tees, making it an ideal round for beginners but it still provides good practice and a quick round for more advanced players. The golf course sprawls across a diverse terrain that allows for downhill and uphill approaches to the small, round greens, which are often sloped from back to front. Keeping the ball below the hole is the key to scoring well on this golf course. Bruce Hills' player-friendly layout only has four bunkers but water comes into play on 12 holes, providing the bulk of the course's challenges.

Great course for the money
You’re not gonna get a 5star course for $30 but this course is very nice for that price. Tee boxes are pretty bad but everything else is pretty good. I love golfing there for the price and scenery.
Great fall golf
I played Bruce Hills on Nov. 11. It was pretty cold and windy, but the course was in great shape for November. The guy in the pro shop was very friendly, I wish I would have gotten his name. There are a lot of oak trees on this course, but not as many leaves on the ground as I expected.
The Wild West
Welcome to the wild west of golf courses. I've played here five times this season, and four out of those five times have been nothing short of a disaster. The course is completely overused and abused by leagues and outings. The tee boxes are in terrible shape, riddled with dirt holes and positioned as if they’re intentionally aimed at every hazard. The greens? They’re like concrete, making it clear they’ve never been aerated—say goodbye to your golf ball once it lands. Playing here on a Thursday? Forget it, it’s nearly impossible. There's zero golf etiquette and a golf round take at least 2 1/2 hours for 9 holes. It's clear rules are not set at this course as people were playing with their shirts off.
The management of this course is a nightmare. It’s as if the GM is determined to ensure you have a miserable experience. They opened up tee times right in the middle of four different leagues—that’s exactly what happened to me on a Tuesday. League members ran all over the staff here showing nothing but disrespect. On the weekend, there was no bartender after 4 pm and no cart girl after 3 pm, leaving the poor pro shop guy to juggle three jobs at once. Apparently, the staff is routinely sent home early every weekend leaving the course a ghost town ran by one pro shop guy.
This course has so much potential, but it's heartbreaking to see it being run into the ground by such poor management. Not worth the cheap price! Stay away at all costs!
