Rustic Glen Golf Course

About
Located just minutes from Ann Arbor, Rustic Glen Golf Club sits at the edge of the Irish Hills area. The rolling topography provides the
ideal terrain for a round of golf. Originally opened in 1968 as a nine-hole course, it was completely redesigned and expanded to 18 holes in 1999. The layout measures to 6,469 yards from the tips. It's not particularly long but there are some holes that are drivable. There are also plenty of opportunities to work on your short game. Strategically placed bunkers frame the fast greens and the gently rolling hills guarantee that you 'll come across some uneven lies, as well as some great views. The scenic view from sixth tee stretches across the Saline Valley. Don't get too distracted by the view on this hole though; this long par 5 demands your attention.

Nice Day, Nice Course
Really a great course to play, and you can't beat the price. 30 bucks (or less on a hot deal) for 18 and a cart? Sweet.
The par 5's were rather short, so they made for easy birdies or pars that felt like they should have been bogeys. Layout was really fine all across - just got stumped on an uphill par 4!
Staff were nice but didn't seem to see my reservation from golfnow. Had to show em the email confirmation on my phone - be ready for that.
Nice course
The staff is very friendly and accomodating. Fairways and greens are maintained well. Greens hold well and ball rolls out well. The course layout isn't difficult. You can score well here if swinging decent. A lot of opportunity to scramble out of trouble here on any mishits. On the day, I played here, it was a little slow, but not horrible.
Fun Course
The course was in good condition and even had rakes and ball washers. We met a young man that played each week on a league and played with him the first 9. He was an excellent guide and I played better than the back nine, in which hidden dangers were lurking, especially the par 5, fifteenth! there is hidden water in front of the green and my 3 wood found it! Overall a very good experience and I will return, and get even with NO. 15.(lol)
Course a little on the Dry side
Nice day for golf with a good friend. Course was dryer than I like but besides that it’s a nice course to play!
Fun round
We played lake/woods and had solid rounds. Challenging in all the right ways. Course is in very good shape.
Fun round; course in good condition
Fun round. Course was wet from overnight rains with drizzle continuing through first two holes. Course and greens in very good condition. Folks in the clubhouse and other players on the course very friendly, letting faster players and smaller groups play through. Course offers a good mix of par 3, 4 and 5’s. Most holes generally straight and not too many ways to get in trouble- outside my own errant shots. Would recommend to a friend wanting a great practice round at a reasonable price.
Open but challenging
We love the open fairways but the undulation and greens keep this course challenging.
Nice country course
Decided to try a new course a little out of the way. My wife and I drove about 45 minutes from our home to try this course. We got a good price on Golfnow for a little earlier morning tee time (9:20 ish )to try and beat the afternoon heat.We got there about 40 min early to check in. We were warmly greeted by the check in staff. He said we would probably be paired up with another twosome. no problem and then he said since you are early if you are ready now go ahead and head out!! And he said since it was Monday he gave us two tickets for free hotdogs at the turn or after our round!! whoohooo off we went. We played 18 in about 3 hr 20 min. Pace of play on the card says 4:10 so we were very pleased. We caught up with a single on hole 5 and followed him and several foursomes in front of him for the remaining 13 holes. The course was pretty wide open overall. Not to much of a penalty if a shot strayed a bit right or left(rough off fairway was cut a little higher but was not punitive as it was not too high or thick)....a good scrambling recovery shot could make up for the errant prior one. Sand traps were OK ...at least the sand did not have much gravel/stones as some courses seem to have these days. Greens were in good shape and putted true. They had noodles in the cups(covid thing these days...but they did have trap rakes set out...hmmm... Green speed was OK...not overly fast but not molasses slow either. I prefer just a little quicker myself. We recorded our lowest scores of the season which was a pleasant surprise!! So if your are in the Ann Arbor/Saline area....this course is worth up to about the mid 20's for 18 w/cart for sure. There are several higher end courses around Ann Arbor that offer a tougher test with a bit higher cost...pick your poison. This course was a nice change for us. Hope to get back for another 18 and a GOOD hot dog!!
Very good course
This is the second time I’ve played here and it’s a great course, especially for the value. Close to Ann Arbor which is a bonus for me. Course is maintained well and the layout is fun to play. Very happy I found this course.
Good bang for your buck
Solid course close to Ann Arbor. Pace of play for weekday was good, course layout good, and they do maintain it well. Would definitely play it again
Hole 15 is a fantastic challenge
I would highly recommend this course to all. The course is mostly open but still provides a challenge
