Stony Creek Golf Course
About
Stony Creek is part of the Huron-Clinton Metroparks system and many locals consider it to be one of its gems. There aren't any residences near the golf course, giving it a secluded feel and providing unhindered views from the elevated tees. The course opened in 1976 but underwent a major renovation that included re-sculpting the bunkers and reconditioning the entire golf course. The layout features several doglegs and a surprising amount of elevation changes. The fairways are tightly lined with trees and bunkers are strategically placed along the greensides and landing zones. There are also lakes and ponds that come into play on six holes on the front nine and three on the back. Stony Creek's par-3 17th is the most memorable water hole and the 14th is also notable for its tiny "postage stamp" green.

Would Play Again
Good experience at this course for the first time. Everything was decent and will attempt to play again in the future. The only negative that I would like to state is that you also have to pay to enter the park where the course is located, it was an unexpected delay and cost. I wish it would have been mentioned at some time during the checkout.
Nice course and well kept
Course was in great shape and fun to play recommend to anyone.
Only draw back is the extra cost to enter the park if you don't have an annual pass.
Don’t waste your time
I arrive for a 12:08 tee time and I check in at 11:45 and the pro shop workers says “are you ready because I let your group go early and they’re teeing off now” meanwhile there’s people waiting on the tee box who have a earlier tee time scheduled.. I hustle down and say “I’m with you guys” one of the guys looks at me and drives off down the fair way. No starter to regulate what’s happening and who’s with who. The course is is very poor shape. The greens are filled with divots which makes putting very difficult because 85% of the time your ball will hit a mark and go off line. Definitely won’t be back
No ranger on course…play was excruciatingly slow…they really should put a ranger on the course to sod up play…they have a starter, 2 guys behind the counter & 1 guy watching the carts…ridiculous!!!
Fast greens
This course is fun and very nicely conditioned, the only thing is the very fast greens if you land a ball and it bounces it will roll the whole way down, but that’s really it great course
Good course, poor pace
Course is in good shape and provides a fun challenge. However pace of play is horribly slow(6 hours+ for 18 teeing off at 8:30) and the started decided to put my 2some behind a very slow 4some even though our tee time was first. No ranger to maintain pace either when the course was clearly very busy. Would go back but only for first tee time of the day.
Place is a Swamp
This was my 4th time playing this course and I dislike it the more I play. Place is a swamp after moderate rain. more than half the greens and all the fairways were sopping wet. Many of the greens are extremely challenging (it's only redeeming value besides the grill). Maintenance of the course leaves much to be desired. Grass can't grow on the 17th tee. Committed to playing 6 more times this season. The inky course I will not return to after our commitment expires.
Slow day
Pace of play was very slow. No rangers on the course to keep groups moving. Bad when you have 4 foursomes waiting to tee off on the 1st hole. Some of the greens were not in good shape. The condition of the course was not bad
Horribly maintained greens and fairway way overpriced especially considering you have to pay to get into the parking lot
Great layout
I love how challenging this course is. I don't love the 8 minute tee times. Plan on a 6 hour round.
Don’t go on the weekends it’s so busy, took us 4 hours to play 9holes
