About
Stony Creek is part of the Huron-Clinton Metroparks system and many locals consider it to be one of its gems. There aren't any residences near the golf course, giving it a secluded feel and providing unhindered views from the elevated tees. The course opened in 1976 but underwent a major renovation that included re-sculpting the bunkers and reconditioning the entire golf course. The layout features several doglegs and a surprising amount of elevation changes. The fairways are tightly lined with trees and bunkers are strategically placed along the greensides and landing zones. There are also lakes and ponds that come into play on six holes on the front nine and three on the back. Stony Creek's par-3 17th is the most memorable water hole and the 14th is also notable for its tiny "postage stamp" green.

Extremely Slow Play
Took us over 5.5 hours to play 18. Group in front of us had an entire hole open in front of them. They were playing a 2 vs. 2 scramble with it being cart path only. Never saw a ranger to tell them to pick up the pace. Many times we sat for 5-10 minutes in the middle of the fairway waiting for them to putt. It was a painfully slow round.
The course if fairly open and fair. Hence, intermediate level golfers should be able to play fast.
This course is always slow. I suggest that they change to 10 minutes between tee time slots and increase the price a bit (8 minutes is too compressed). People would enjoy the course more.
Great course layout and friendly staffs
Great layout of the course and well maintained.
Staffs are very friendly.
Reasonable green fee.
It will be great if they bring back credit for park entrance fee for golfers.
Good Value
Enjoyable experience, people were nice. Upon arrival they brought me a golf cart in the parking lot as I got out of m6 car. The people behind the counter were friendly. The course was in very good shape. Greens were a little slow, but in good shape. A few of the tee boxes were in rough shape. However, the course layout was great, quiet, very green and lots of deer. I love the atmosphere. This was a great value..
Nice course
Golfed there on Father's Day my first time there, course was in real good shape except tee boxes were little rough on a few holes. Very nice course with lots of challenges with water and bunkers,will definitely play there again
Nice Course for the Money
Haven’t played this course in a number of years and it was still enjoyable. It was in pretty good shape and the pace of play was very good for a Saturday morning. I always enjoyed the layout which is similar to up north courses with a lot of trees. I would recommend playing it and plan on it myself.
Been better
The conditions of this course has been better in past years than it is now. Tee boxes are horrible. Pace of play is really slow.
Greens were very hard to read.
Great course saw a lot of different animals throughout our round very cool.
