About
Stony Creek is part of the Huron-Clinton Metroparks system and many locals consider it to be one of its gems. There aren't any residences near the golf course, giving it a secluded feel and providing unhindered views from the elevated tees. The course opened in 1976 but underwent a major renovation that included re-sculpting the bunkers and reconditioning the entire golf course. The layout features several doglegs and a surprising amount of elevation changes. The fairways are tightly lined with trees and bunkers are strategically placed along the greensides and landing zones. There are also lakes and ponds that come into play on six holes on the front nine and three on the back. Stony Creek's par-3 17th is the most memorable water hole and the 14th is also notable for its tiny "postage stamp" green.

Rushed
We played today. A 4some. It had rained a couple days ago so the course was wet. Puddles everywhere. When we arrived cart path only was enforced. So trudging through mud and ponds was not easy for any of us... and the ranger comes to us and tells us we need to pick up the pace, when we were doing the best we could with the situation. Everyone was playing slow. We just thought it was very inconsiderate and rude to come at us like that.
Trees need trimming
The course was in rough shape today. Maybe from a hard weekend? What was most disturbing was the condition of the tee boxes. Some were in good shape. Many were in very rough shape. They also need to trim the trees around some of the tee boxes, branches are hanging out and almost to the point of interfering with your tee shot. Also by trimming the trees you might get some grass to grow on the tee boxes, instead of hitting off dirt.
The greens were in rough shape as well. Fix your ball marks people! Most of the time this course is in good shape.

Greens rough and super slow.
Don’t like to play it much because of the extra $10 you have to pay to access the course if you don’t have a metropass
Cart Path
Conditions were wet so it was cart path only. . Why you would allow a five some of seniors out was beyond me. Pace was brutal. Add the fact the two some ahead of me would only go to their ball after the group in front had cleared.. They would have to walk all the way across to their ball then back. Ready Golf !!!!!!!!!!! Ended up not finishing due to Thunder Storm. Had plenty of time had it not been a 5 hour round,

It was a beautiful day and the course was in great shape. We had a wonderful time. Everyone was friendly. Will come back.
