About
Stony Creek is part of the Huron-Clinton Metroparks system and many locals consider it to be one of its gems. There aren't any residences near the golf course, giving it a secluded feel and providing unhindered views from the elevated tees. The course opened in 1976 but underwent a major renovation that included re-sculpting the bunkers and reconditioning the entire golf course. The layout features several doglegs and a surprising amount of elevation changes. The fairways are tightly lined with trees and bunkers are strategically placed along the greensides and landing zones. There are also lakes and ponds that come into play on six holes on the front nine and three on the back. Stony Creek's par-3 17th is the most memorable water hole and the 14th is also notable for its tiny "postage stamp" green.

Underwhelming and Overbooked
Disclaimer - golfed this course the afternoon of the first nice Saturday of the year, so most courses were probably booked and getting back into things.
Traffic at the entrance of Stony Creek Metropark was standstill for 20 minutes. The course was definitely overbooked - didn’t start our round until at least 30-45 after our tee time. Staff behind the main counter were pretty rude. Tee boxes were shredded up. Greens and sand in decent condition. No beer cart. Overall slow play, lots of groups walking and holding things up.
It’s unfortunate that I had this experience, because the pricing was pretty reasonable and the course layout is nice. There’s so much potential but I don’t see myself going back here anytime soon.
A little wet
The course was in good shape considering all the rain we had. Was cart path only which made it a little slow
Greens were fast
Greens were fast and in great shape. They were very firm and difficult to hold. A number of tee boxes were in bad shape, but the fairways were very nice.
Rude
Rude people at counter. Driving range was all leafs and mud. I ended up cancelling, because they were way overbooked. Literal bus load of people came.
Great up north feel
This is probably my new favorite metro park course. Very challenging but fun for all skill levels.
Not a good time
Frost delay pushed tee time 1.5 hours back. Group of 16 ahead of us took way too long to tee off. We were only able to get 9 holes in.
I would ask for a refund of at least 1/2 of what I paid.
Course was in sub-par shape.
Disappointed to say the least
A good course for not a lot of money.
Course was in good shape, greens were consistent, fairways were well trimmed.
Tough
Hard to find, have to pay more to get into place just to play it, long long golf with no one letting people through
