About
Stony Creek is part of the Huron-Clinton Metroparks system and many locals consider it to be one of its gems. There aren't any residences near the golf course, giving it a secluded feel and providing unhindered views from the elevated tees. The course opened in 1976 but underwent a major renovation that included re-sculpting the bunkers and reconditioning the entire golf course. The layout features several doglegs and a surprising amount of elevation changes. The fairways are tightly lined with trees and bunkers are strategically placed along the greensides and landing zones. There are also lakes and ponds that come into play on six holes on the front nine and three on the back. Stony Creek's par-3 17th is the most memorable water hole and the 14th is also notable for its tiny "postage stamp" green.

Not a place for golfers
This course is more for people who play fast paced golf, the course scheduled everyone to close to each other. Felt rushed and all 4 of us played quick. Will never go back even if you told me it’s free. The staff were not accommodating and felt as if we are doing them a favor by visiting this course. If I could request my money back I would.
Greens a bit slow
Stoney Creek is a beautiful course. The only thing I had a concern with is I felt the greens were a bit slow.
I think the $10 fee to get into park should be deducted for green fee . This was done in previous years
Good value for the price. Challenging and interesting layout but doable for average golfer.
Had a great time. No one to push us and we played at our own pace.3 hours 20 minutes for 18 holes.
Always a great course to play.
I've been playing the many golf courses in my area of the northern suburbs of Detroit. Stony Creek Metro park golf course has always proven to be a great value. Friendly staff, course always in great condition, and their mask wearing rule is enforced and allows me to feel safe. You never lose when playing this course.
Nice course to play.
Greens were fast and challenging. Fairways were in great shape, They did have a few small areas circled as ground under repair but it never came into play. Bunkers had decent sand and in good shape.
The only warning is that this is a metro park and a fee of $10 is charged to enter the park. With COVID, a face mask is required to enter the club house.
Not worth it
Not worth paying any amount again. Course conditions were below average.
Beautiful course with plenty of variety and challenge, but playable for the average amateur. Course was full today but my threesome finished in just under three hours. Course in good condition for the amount of traffic it gets.
Enjoyable Course for all Levels
Have played this course multiple times and no matter how bad my game is, I always have a good time.
