About
Stony Creek is part of the Huron-Clinton Metroparks system and many locals consider it to be one of its gems. There aren't any residences near the golf course, giving it a secluded feel and providing unhindered views from the elevated tees. The course opened in 1976 but underwent a major renovation that included re-sculpting the bunkers and reconditioning the entire golf course. The layout features several doglegs and a surprising amount of elevation changes. The fairways are tightly lined with trees and bunkers are strategically placed along the greensides and landing zones. There are also lakes and ponds that come into play on six holes on the front nine and three on the back. Stony Creek's par-3 17th is the most memorable water hole and the 14th is also notable for its tiny "postage stamp" green.

Very slow play
Far too many players for cart path only. Groups ahead of us would not take multiple clubs, were constantly walking to ball then walking back to change clubs. Were not playing ready golf when on the green. The course was very wet and greens were fair at best. Course six not merit the price.
Wet
Extremely wet course, cart path only. Plugged balls, not worth the money.
One of my favorite Golf Courses
The course was in great shape a always and the pace of play was very good. I feel really challenged by the course layout. Pretty long even from the white tees. The greens were in great condition and very difficult to read. Not the kind of course a novice should play but if you are someone who plays a considerable amount of golf and like challenges this course checks every box.
Slow play
Walked off the course after the 13th hole in four hours. Saw the beverage cart at least five times but never saw a ranger out there monitoring play or finding out why it was so slow.
I went in to say something and was told it sometimes busy on the weekends And there’s nothing that we can do about it.
Great Day
The course was in great shape, the staff was awesome and my wife and I had a fantastic time. The pace was a little slow, but it was such a nice day that we really didn’t mind too much. There was wildlife on the course which is always a plus for us.
Most enjoyable
Course is green and lush,however the lack if rain is hardening the ground. The greens were a little long but it was the end of day. Always enjoy this track and will he back!
Super Value on Hot Deal
The course was in good condition after a whole day of rain before. Greens were well kept.
Staff was friendly and got us off on time. The Hot Deal for $14 was well worth it and I would return soon.
Great Course
We loved the layout of this challenging course. Interesting course design and the holes got harder as the round progressed. Greens were fast and a bit tricky to read which made us think a lot. Lots of space between holes in an Up North like feel. This course made us think about our shots. It’s on the longer side too so not really a place for beginners. There was room to recover from shots that strayed off the fairway. Net is we can’t wait to play this course again
Stiff greens
My overall feel for the course was a positive. However, the biggest draw back was how hard the greens were. There was zero bite from the ball when it landed, so they played extremely fast on chip shots.
Very nice course layout. Many holes challenging. Plays long, but fair.
Good metropark course
Challenging, but fair course. Conditions were still wet after a couple days of rain. Greens had not been mowed recently due to the rain, but we're still fair. Some long par 5s. Would like to play again after the course dries out. Be advised - $10 parking to enter the park, even if just golfing.
Great time
Played 18 then 9 more weather was great ,staff helpful & overall great experience
