Stony Creek Golf Course
About
Stony Creek is part of the Huron-Clinton Metroparks system and many locals consider it to be one of its gems. There aren't any residences near the golf course, giving it a secluded feel and providing unhindered views from the elevated tees. The course opened in 1976 but underwent a major renovation that included re-sculpting the bunkers and reconditioning the entire golf course. The layout features several doglegs and a surprising amount of elevation changes. The fairways are tightly lined with trees and bunkers are strategically placed along the greensides and landing zones. There are also lakes and ponds that come into play on six holes on the front nine and three on the back. Stony Creek's par-3 17th is the most memorable water hole and the 14th is also notable for its tiny "postage stamp" green.

Great course in the middle of a beautiful state park.
Worth your time to spend the day at this beautifully well-kept and multi attraction state park. The golf course is both challenging and engaging, with lots of nature moving around you. Friendly and knowledgeable staff with a minimum of anemones at the clubhouse but a load of them outside the park. Pace of play varies but it’s never slow and there’s enough to watch and see to keep it interesting all day It’s a little dry right now so without normal irrigation it does get a little brown but with the upcoming rainy weather coming expect a great round.
Park fees no longer reimbursed
You get a good deal on Golfnow....but they no longer reimburse you for a $10 day pass. So, in previous times they covered the added cost. Now they don’t.
So, your good deal isn’t so....
I won’t go back. I think it is BS....our greed/ money grab...
Maybe discount the golf then....especially for people who don’t use the park.
I paid for golf...and Golfnow has no mention of additional costs - maybe they should, walking for $38.....no way!!!!!! No a chance....Can get better deals with a cart in the area!!!!
The guy working there was not helpful. Very political....
Not ever going back.
Stony Creek is laid out like some of the up north course with great trees intermingled. The course is well maintained. I have played it for many years and for the senior price, it compares well to other courses in the area.
Paid $56 for tee times for my son and I. Once I got to the course I had to pay an additional $40 for cart and park entry. Paid almost $100 for a 6 hour round with my son and I. No rangers or cart girls. Course is great but management is very poor
Great hidden course
Enjoy this course, staff is friendly and it is kept very well
Good experience
Very good experience well-maintained would definitely come back and golf again
Extremely Unprofessional and Rude Staff
The staff at Stony Creek were absolutely terrible. Not only were they unprepared for our tee-time, they had no idea if we were playing 9 or 18, and when we asked to use a cart, he pulled a number out of thin air to charge us that was even more than our round of golf cost. After multiple employees arguing with us, we were able to get onto the course. One of the most rude encounters I've ever had on a golf course and I will not be returning here to play this course.
Course is beautiful. Grass is cut short in the rough and in the fairway. Nice scenery for South East Michigan. Will definitely play again.
Nice Place to Play
First time ever playing the course. It helped that the day was predicting rain showers so there was hardly anyone at the course. We walked the course which is easy to walk even though carts were available to ride. Greens were in good shape but there were some greens that were chewed up by those not repairing their ball marks. My only big complaint is the tee boxes. There were quite of few tee boxes that needless to say need a lot of TLC. Other than that it is a very good course and will definitely play it again.
A challenging and fun experience
I haven’t played this course for years and was pleasantly surprised. The maintenance was great
