3 hours for 8 holes of golf!
As the title says, I gave up after 8 holes when it took 3 hours to complete. A complete joke of management of the course led to the worse pace of play I’ve ever experienced. We also found out the group in front of us had a tee time after ours and the starter didn’t address it at all.
I won’t be going back.
Pretty good for the money
I play this course frequently as it’s close to home. The layout is fun from the tips and greens can be challenging, though they usually run on the slower side. A couple of the greens had fungus issues and are being worked on, but it isn’t too bad and doesn’t distract from play. A few fairways had standing water and we didn’t get too much rain lately so I’m not sure why. Overall for $55 it’s a pretty decent course with a good layout. Pay attention to wind, it can add or subtract two clubs on any given hole
Decent course, terrible staff.
Course is decent, greens are challenging but not in the greatest shape. My real problem is with the staff. Multiple times I’ve been there at my tee time to wait for the staff to show up. The grounds crew is worse. I gave up after waiting at 4 holes for the grounds crew to finish mowing. They see me standing there but don’t stop. Golf is hard enough without having to time my shot to their mowing pattern. After mowing, they don’t even put the pin back in. Every hole I shot into the green without knowing where the pin was. I don’t work there, I paid too much for this. Wildly inconsiderate. 4.5 hour pace as a solo golfer with no one in front of me is unacceptable. I watched them mow for more of my round then I played.
Unrealized Potential
Too many blind shots and confusing routing makes this course less fun than it should be. I hit to the wrong green twice and I have never done that before. Bunkers are little more than holes filled with loose dirt. On one tee, vegetation had grown so high that it was not possible to see the fairway—a major problem if one has never played a course before. The cart path was under construction and we had to deal with front end loaders and steam rollers on several tees. I also feel that every putt broke away from the holes as if the holes were not tamped down properly. The course itself is interesting and generally in decent shape except for the glaring issues above. I doubt I will return, though.
Great adventure
Pace of play not a problem completed 18 in 4 hours 10 minutes, every group was a four sum in front of us. The course was in very good shape there were areas of cart path work going on and saw people working on a good number o these ares . I will for sure play there again.
Show me the Money$$$$$$$
I don’t understand why I’m paying $65 for a course that looks like I should be paying about $40 at most. It is absolutely disrespectful as a resident of Troy knowing how much money this golf course makes in revenue every year! Seeing this course in the shape it was in was a slap in my face. The fairway ruts, bunker pool on the 1st hole(really, 1st hole🤦🏻♂️), o ranger to keep the pace(groups of kids all over the place, junior golfers are awesome by the way), hundreds of divots on the green, carts with usb guts pulled out, bald range balls, worn out flag sticks, missing placement flags, and a myriad of other things! People need to unite and fight against the mismanagement of funds at this so-called Municipal course. The city of Troy should be ashamed.
Thank you for your time!
Sanctuary Lake is a great course but too many golfers
The rate of play was awful. No ranger to speed up play! They must have put too many golfers out. We waited 15 minutes on most of the holes. 18 holes took 4 hours and 40 minutes! Way too long for this course!
Nice course but we won’t play there again!
90 hot and humid
staying hydrated was the goal
Shot 82 three weeks ago here
but 92 was all I could muster today.
Too bad
not the right golf course (course lay out, condition) too bad
Unique Course + Very score-able + In good condition
Always a very busy course, Don't ever expect a quick round, but it is an enjoyable course, with a lot of birdies to be had.
