The worst
Easily 60 people waiting around outside waiting to tee off with times backed up more than an hour. Junk.
"You cant squeeze 54 holes into a golf course in the middle of suburbia.." *Maple Lane -"Watch This"
I play it during twilight usually, got 18 in before league play tee'd off and course conditions were far better than I'm used to haha. You still get what you pay for (tight tree lined fairways, beat tee boxes, deadgrass/hard ground in spots) but its appropriately priced. I got a deal for 18, picked the east because I think it has the most interesting holes on the back 9 with the river. We had issues with our cart all morning, tried 3 before settling. I understand gas carts need to warm up first but we needed rolling starts the whole front 9 to get her going. Switched at the turn and had a much better experience. Been thinking of investing in a nice push cart now more than ever.
Worst course I’ve ever played at
Pace of play was terrible and it seemed as if there was a concert there. I will never go back to this place!! Trust me it isn’t worth it.
Best layout of three courses
East has the best layout of three 18! Hole courses at facility. East incorporates use of river on back 9 and raised greens for front 9 greens 18 and 9. Greens in very good shape and fairways decent.
Worst Course I’ve Ever Played
This course is terrible. There are no fairways. It’s just a bunch of hard dirt, weeds, and sticks. There is no cart path. Everyone is hitting Into one another. On top of that, they charge $25 per person for 9 holes? Insane. You can play 9 at the Shenandoah CC for $30. It should not cost more than $10 to play here. Terrible course all around. I will not be coming back.
Firing range with concrete fairways
Wouldn’t pay more than $10 to play this course. With 54 holes on top of each other make sure your head is on a swivel as balls are flying all over the place. You are not rewarded for hitting the ball on the fairways as they feel like you are hitting off pure concrete, I’d recommend staying in the rough. Clubhouse, bathrooms and other facilities on the course bring you back to the 1950’s and need a complete overhaul. I’d recommend the owner(s) of this course to sell to a developer and build 400 cookie cutter homes or additional strip malls, as Macomb county can’t get enough of those.
Don’t waste your time
This might be the most poorly run course in Metro Detroit. They are constantly overbooking tee times and do not have enough carts to cover these bookings. The starter doesn’t do his job and tells people to start on whatever course they would like which results in long backups at the tee. Pace of play is absolutely abysmal. It took 4 hours for us to play the front 9 and ended up taking 7 hours for all 18. Overall, a terrible experience and will not be returning.
Poor course conditions even for the beginning of the year. No public restroom available and no portable restroom options as an alternative.
Confusing
the course wasn't bad had fun a few down side was the score card had three different course in one place on the card and the map was hard to follow.
Good League Play
My league plays at Maple lane. Pace of play is always fast and service is great while on the course. The east course has three par 3s which makes good practice for your wedge/iron tee shot. The east course is nothing special and exactly what you would expect when coming to play maple lane.
$50????!!!!!!!!!!
To charge $50 for this course is insane. Especially the east. Places like Greystone and cherry creek offer $5 more with 100% better equipment and course conditions.
Just me and the deer
I played on a work day after the rain stopped and it was fairly empty. There was a deer that hung around for much of my round and I didn't have to wait for other players at all (probably because of the rain and workday). I liked the course. It plays easy, which is good for beginners like me, so you don't lose a lot of balls. Not many water hazards, wide fairways and not much slope. Only criticism is that you have to check the map to determine where to go for the next hole, since the 3 courses intertwine.
value
The ranger wasn't nice at all until i stated this was my first time playing at the course. I was told the kids handle the carts and once I obtain one then i can talked to him. Nothing was marked. . I left after nine holes. .. two hours and thirty minutes later.
Not a place I will ever play again.
Sincerely
Al Mason
