This course has great features.
I thought the course was in very good condition and I will play it again.
Solid
Course has improved since last year. No more big dirt areas on the fairway. Challenging but not crazy hard. Only complaint is that I bought 18 holes here on golf now, and they just finished letting out a league so play was slow. No range control to keep the golfers two teams ahead to stop hitting two golf balls every other shot on the fairway making a line at the tee boxes. I was only able to play 9 holes because the carts had to be in by 9 well before dark but didn't say anything about that till after I paid for 18 holes. But morning and afternoon when not busy I love playing here.
Slow
In great shape, greens were perfect! Only problem was waiting with 2 other groups at every tee box.
Lots of OB, Weird Greens
Booked a special on Golfnow for $20 on a Friday near the time of the course opening.
On the front 9 there is out of bounds on all the holes but one of the par 3's. The course became wider from the 8th hole on, but this is a bad course for hackers to play on. I would not be surprised if someone playing during a more crowded time would experience significant waiting time.
The greens are rock hard. I'm a single digit capper that can drop and stop my pitching wedge on 95% of the courses I play. Here I was running it 8 yards. They are missing a layer of sand it appears, and if you short side yourself you have virtually no chance of getting it with in 10 feet. Although the greens appear to be mown tight, they are pretty darn slow. Final word on the greens: They put some odd slopes in the greens that make almost no sense. Overall these were some of the more curious greens I've played on and I was not a fan.
Normally for $20 with a cart I would say you can't go wrong, but this is a VERY difficult course to play for your first time and it's not a course worth going back to. So save yourself the agony of hitting shots out of bounds (or a house that is right next to the out of bounds on almost every hole), and skip it.
Back to being "GOOD"
This couse used to be one of the best in the tri-county area, then the course conditions declined. We haven't been back in a couple of years and we were pleasantly suprised at the positive turnarount Glacier is making. Keep up the Trend.
vast improvement
played this course a few years back & i have to say it has improved. i was very impressed with the greens & fairways, it has plenty of water, forced carries, bunkers, doglegs etc.. everything you need in a golf course & for the special deal $25 it is great value.
Big Change
I have played this course many times since it opened. It was one of the more upscale course's in Macomb Co. But over the last few years it went down hill to the point were we quit going there because of how bad the course got. I heard it was getting back in shape so for a $20 hot deal why not wow what a change it's back to the course I remember greens in great shape for early May fairway's good to. This course is back on my list of one's to play It's back to the great conditions it use to be. A must play !!!
Nice course
greens were a little slow for the way they looked in the rough was a little long.sand traps were great had no problem getting out of them.
very good deal
I have played this course many times.
I just love it for t a lot of reasons.
Excellent course to play for the money.
Great Track
Hadn't played since they re-opened a few years ago, loved the few changes and the course was in good shape
Great Course! Will be back!
If you want a challenge and great, fast greens then this is your place. The driving range was in excellent condition for being the end of April! Played from the tips and must keep it straight with your drive!
Glacier Club
Greens are slow otherwise course is in good condition so early in the season.
LOTS OF CHARACTER
If you are looking for a challenging course that requires some creative shot making.... You've found it! In pretty good shape for this early in the season.
good course
compare to some other courses during the fall season very well kept and quiet very clean from leaves
Play Here!
Challenging layout, immaculate (even this late in the season), fun! Play here if you get a chance.
Nice course but....
Nice course and layout. moderately difficult.
Must have big three beer league playing here. fairways look light divots have not been replaced all summer . Greens looked like a pimple faced teenager.
must be the type of customer they attract for some reason. Had 6 some in front of us. til we finally went around them. Some one needs to educate the clients.
I would play again but would not be my first choice which is a shame because it is a very nice layout
Good Value
Houses too close on some fairways. Makes you try and steer the ball
Improving
The course is improving. The greens always have had ball marks, but it wasn't as bad as in the past. Greens are very quick. Only complaint is related to staff member, I understand "Lee" is an instructor who decided to come up and chew out our group. One one of the back nine holes (I think 12) we parked in the rough between cart path and green as the path is a long way from green and my partner has bad knees. Instead of asking us to stay on the path, Lee decided to angrily tell us that we would be thrown off the course if we left the path again near the green. He could use some customer courtesy training!
Greens in tough shape
First time playing this course. Staff friendly but pro shop and grille were underwhelming. At check-in they gave me a hole by hole guide for free that was very useful. Tee boxes and greens were in rough shape - though it was the end of summer. Cart boys told me after round that no one ever repairs their ball marks - that was clearly evident. Course winds through a residential development and I have never seen homes so close to the fairways. If you like to 'get-away' when you golf this is not the course for you. Good thing I booked my round through GolfNow as I wouldn't pay the full price to play this course again.
New ownership.
Things were a little bare in pro shop and lack of menu.
Understandable having just changed hands.
Should be in good shape shortly!
