Wicked Greens
This course has a very classy old world club house with an attentive polite staff. The course is both beautiful and challenging. The greens are the most difficult I have played in some time. They were very dry and hard. They just could not hold the ball. These greens are very challenging all by themselves but then they take to the next level with some absolutely ridiculous pin placements. Every member of the foursome had multiple 4 putts. I enjoyed this course and will be ready to battle these greens again very soon. I would just recommend they show the golfers some respect and plan some more reasonable pin placements, I mean it's not the US Open.
Weird Course
Not too sure what the plan is there, but the clubhouse was completely empty besides a computer. It literally looked like they were going out of business.
Staff were great. Helpful and a warm introduction.
Now for the course. Memories is the 13th hole still ring in my head. Half of us 3 putted and other half 4 putted. It was an unbelievably difficult green that comes out of nowhere, leaving you wondering what happened to your round. The greens are like glass and difficult, which is fine. The pin locations were also difficult making for a very challenging day, again which is good.
It just seemed a little gimmicky at times but overall a tight challenging course that can beat you off the tee box if inaccurate and is relentless until you put the ball in the cup.
We paid $35 for our rounds so overall value is great. Meanwhile my confidence wanes. Looking forward to playing it again .... And being prepared. Will not pay more than 45 to play here.
Cold & Windy
Greens need to grow in, but they or fast even now.
Rough is very tall and hard to get out of.
There or NO SENIOR TEEs
This course will be good by the middle of summer, look forward to playing again
Great round
The course was in great conditions, the greens are the big challenge as they were hard but made the game that much more fun and truly pushed your skill set, fairways are very well manicured, and the same with the tees. The course is a real treat to play. The kitchen was closed do to a flood issue so we could not enjoy a meal, did enjoy two cocktails and can not wait to play glacier club again.
Fun somewhat challenging course
I booked a tee time for 2 on Golfnow and added a 3rd at the course the staff was very accommodating we moved out tee time back 10 minutes for the adjustment I was very happy with that. The Course was in great conditions. Best rolling greens I've played in the area!!! Fairways perfect, but if you miss hit off the tee often times you find yourself in trouble, a lot of water and sand. most of the greens are elevated, some up to 15 feet I would say so bring your flop shot. This course is on point!!!
Love the course!
This is one of my favorite courses in the Metro Detroit area. Challenging but not ridiculous with fast smooth greens.
Double booked back 9
Played the front in 2 hours then got to the back 9 and there was 4 groups per hole. Called the pro shop and they said they let people go off the back in between groups making the turn!!! How stupid is that?!? The ranger was useless also. I have no plans on returning. Completely incompetent staff
Outings this early
When we made the turn there was an outing of 10 foursomes going off the back. It took us twice as long to play the back as the front.
Overall Solid Experience
The course is solid. Each hole features places to miss, and forces you to use a lot of clubs rather than driver, short iron every hole. The par 3's throughout the course are tricky, and it is often tough to get a good yardage because the wind is in play on some holes and not on others.
$30 tops to play here
I understand it was early in year, but this track isn't worth more than $30. Clubhouse had a flood over winter and was all torn up. Conditions of course are spotty. A few holes had new sod, or were seeded and covered, yet carts could go anywhere. This course has really gone down hill since it was first opened. Definitely not one of the premier courses in Macomb county anymore.
good golf course watch the OB's there is alot of them
played in bad weather, golf course was good a little wet but this early in the season, great price $20 with cart from golfnow.com, course has somewhat of difficlty and its the OB's on almost every hole
Serious Disappointment
I played this course on my birthday with a couple of my golf buddies and I was really disappointed (luckily i got a deal on it) the greens were diseased and burnt and were playing to the point of unfairness. I live on a private course so I know what "quick greens" are all about but these were just atrocious (my friend hitting a soft lob shot that landed on the front of the green then it would run all the way off the back) and wouldn't hold any spin. It's an Arthur Hills layout so its tough and fairway shots are rewarded. I've been told it was once a really nice course that was well maintained but everything was incredibly dry and dead for early june (i had a 5 wood rollout over 300 yards..thats 50 yards too far on average). I would highly suggest not paying more than $30 for this course which you won't find often, but you can enjoy more courses for much less. Enjoy those U.S. open greens! :/
Really really nice course
This course has many nice/interesting holes…took me a little while to locate the 15th hole due to some of the construction going on after 14th hole.
The course is too slow
There are some local players and they are very slow. They seem not to care about the people who behind them. We could not finish before dark. There is no ranger on the course. I would not recommed this course
Outstanding
This was the first time I used golf now and had no problems. I payed 25 dollars for the round of golf and the cart. The course was great and challenging. I would rate it as one of the best in the area. The greens were fast and multi-tiered. This is one of my favorite places to golf and I will go back again and again and again.
This course was very well taken care of
I will play there again. Fairways are lush and the greens fast.
Another great Macomb County course.
Above average course with a friendly staff. The course is in nice shape. Hole number 8 is under repair and has always been unfair.
The rest of the course is challenging with some tough greens.
The midweek rate that I got of $28 including a cart was a bargain
This is one of the nicer courses in the Shelby Township / Washington area. I always like playing here - sometimes the green fees on the weekend ($70) are a little pricy and there are alternatives. Even so, it is a tricky course (without being unnecessarily punitive) and in good shape. It is a nice round of golf.
Try to ignore construction.
Super-friendly staff. Greens were fast. Rough was brutal. A good test of golf. Try to ignore all the construction around back nine. Sadly this will be just "another" course meandering thru a subdivision. 18th hole sadly is dumb! Mr. Hills seems to have about one on every design.
