About
Located in Ypsilanti just off I-94 between Detroit Metro Airport and Ann Arbor is Eagle Crest Golf Club, operated by Eastern Michigan University and home to the college golf teams. Eagle Crest opened in 1987 and is a daily-fee course with a Marriott hotel located onsite. The elevated driving range and practice area overlooks Ford Lake and the course layout features several holes that play along its shores. The highlight is the signature par-5 16th hole that features a shallow, peninsula green on the lake. In 2012, EMU embarked on a 20-year master plan to the golf course that will elevate the stature of the course among NCAA host courses. Enhancements include tree management and more views of the lake, rebuilt greens and rerouted cart paths.

Golfer Reviews
AMAZING!
Excellent course. Scenic views. I will play this course again.
fast greens and well located pins
this course has much to offer the average golfer. got some dog legs left and right. plenty of water and sloping fairways and tiered greens.
great improvments
Eagle Crest has always been a favorite of mine, and now they have been doing some course improvements that will push them even higher on my list of places to play...
One of my favorites
Beautiful, challenging greens. There are some birdie holes and some holes you'll be lucky to par. The course is well maintained and quite scenic, especially when you consider you're in the middle of Ypsilanti.
They have a full range, a chipping green, and two putting greens. The club house is nice and has a decent restaurant. The staff is friendly.
I've been playing this course for about five years now. The course recently came under new management and all of the new changes to the course are great. If you haven't been here in a while it's worth coming back to see the changes. The greens are in fantastic condition.
The course is hard from the tips.
Staggeringly Beautiful Course
This has to be the prettiest course I've played in the Ann Arbor area, and I've played many of the best ones (UM Course, Radrick Farms, Links at Whitmore Lake, Hickory Creek). It is a lakeside course that takes full advantage of Ford Lake to the east.
I am a high handicap golfer but felt the course was challenging yet fair from the white tees. Every hole was spectacular to look at. Lots of elevation changes, plenty of trees, rivers and ponds, and nice big undulating greens that ran true. Was the first course I've played this season that actually had a beer cart. Also the friendliest staff I've encountered. They met us in the parking lot and loaded our bags for us. Some of the tee boxes were being resodded but otherwise the course is in great shape.
Pace of play was slowed by a foursome in front of us (we were a twosome) but we were done in about 4:20. Definitely want to play this course again.
Early season
It is early in the year so the course is still rounding into form, but for the weather we have had the course is in great shape.
Can't wait to play again friday
Several holes had temporary tee boxes that were up to 100 yds forward
very nice course and staff, but it was a total last minute surprise, that several tee's were temporary, instead of the nice elevated regular tee's.
Good Challenge
This Gary Player designed course is undergoing a lot of renovations to improve the quality of overall play. Redesigned a number of greens and placed new sod on several tees. For very early in the golf year, this course is very playable.
what a great golf course, one of the best tracts in our aera
eagle crest, home course of the eastern michigan univ. eagles what a great golf course, great risk-reward golf course
Course Under construction !!
Hard to play when half the course is under construction !!! Temp tees set up in fairway ! couple greens set up in middle of fairway !! Not the time to try this course !!! Maybe middle od next year !!!!!
Great course to play at any level.
The course offers a variety of challenges. Great scenic views of Ford Lake.
Great layout
Course is challenging and fun. You'll use most clubs in your bag. Can't wait to play this one again next year since some of the back tee boxes were closed for fall/winter renovations otherwise rating would be excellent.
Many elevation changes.
This is a great course, difficult for the better players and enjoyable for the average golfer. Great greens, plenty of water hazzards and bunkers. Eagle Crest hosts the state high school championships.
This course was so bad. We could not play 1st nine!.
Front 9 was closed and one hole of back nine green was also closed without any advanced information when I made reservation by on line!!!!!
I paid for 18 hole play but we had to play back 9 twice with one hole green closed!!!
Mos of fairway is the best condition.
I like this course fairway . The condition is the best.
scenic and challenging
This course features a unique combination of being very scenic and very challenging. A good portion of the front 9 is set around a lake which makes for some water challenges, as well as a beautiful setting. There are some very challenging holes on the front and the back, and a player who is not familiar with the course will be penalized for putting the ball in the wrong place. There are maybe six greens that have pin positions which you can't get a putt near from the wrong part of the green. There's a variety in lengths from the white and blue tees, and every club in the bag is used. The only things keeping it from being a 5 star rating: I've never played a round there in less than 4.5 hours and most have been more than 5 hours. It's a little pricy. It's a great occasional treat though.
Great test of your ability
The course was very challenging w/ its fast and hard greens. The fairways an roughs were very playable.Knowledge of the layout is a big plus. The practice area has all the bells an whistles. My only concern was w/ # 18 green,VERY UNFAIR.SLOPE IS TO GREAT TO STOP THE BALL W/ GRASS SO SHORT.
