Holiday slow down
Played early on the 4th and was very slow rangers could have done a bit more. Great course variety of holes/shots. Fun
Very nice course
We found the course challenging and in good shape. Our foursome played in under four hours and the staff was very nice.
pushed aside customer
I set up my tee time fair and square and paid for it. When it came time for my tee off the golf course found a bigger group that wanted to play aka more money for them. So I was kicked aside and was told I could join another group of random people that I didn't want to play with and it was very obvious they didn't want me with them either. This was the second time in a row this has happened to me. I'll never go back to this course if they have to choose between making 50 bucks or losing a customer they will take the 50 bucks every time. The manager was present for all of this.
Nice Suprise.
I had not played Bluff Creek in years and was pleasantly surprised Sunday by the improved conditions of the course.
Keep in mind much of my reserved ratings were based on the fact that we had multiple inches of rain the day previous. I will review the course again when it has a chance to dry.
Greens were in great shape considering the rough Winter and wet Spring. Tee boxes need worked on a bit but not unplayable. Pace was solid and just over 4 hours on a Sunday is outstanding.
Clubhouse is old and they need more food. Beverage service was reasonable.
Excellent greens
Greens rolling quite well even with plenty of rain on us....great value with golfnow.....very very challenging .........after a couple of trips you'll know where not to hit your ball...club selection paramount ........good luck!
Bluff Creek
Overall, the course was good condition considering all the rain received lately. The rough was very long so accuracy was crucial. The greens were in excellent shape as were the fairways. The pin placements on some holes were difficult. This would be a difficult course to walk because of the hills. I would recommend this course to a friend. You may want to call ahead to see if the rough has been mowed.
Worth the trip
I played Bluff Creek for the 2nd time yesterday and came away even more impressed with it this time than I did before. It takes a bit of effort to get there right now due to road construction but it is definitely worth the trip, especially if you get a great rate on GolfNow.
The course was in very good shape with the only exception being #14. In this case the fairway was very wet. In fact it was so wet that the turf was bubbling up and when you walked on it it was like walking on one of those inflatable jumping rides. Apparently all the excess water on the course must funnel right down to this fairway and accumulate. All in all it's a very minor grievance.
My only other complaint with this course is hole #12 which I feel is a very unfair hole, especially for the average golfer. I know this is their signature hole but the complexity level is outrageous.
The rest of the round was great. The pace of play was good at just under 4 hours. I walked the course and you definitely feel it when you are done as it is quite hilly, especially on the back nine.
All in all I would recommend checking out Bluff Creek. The course is challenging, and well kept. The staff is friendly and I'm sure you will come away wanting to come back again.
Slim Fairways, solid course but not my favorite
Overall Bluff Creek is a nice track that is in decent shape but there are some conditions that took away from the overall enjoyment of the round. The fairways are very narrow at Bluff Creek, which isn't a problem rather a nice challenge. However the cut of the rough was terrible and it made finding slightly mishit shots very tough and time consuming. Overall its not a bad course, but not my favorite.
Solid Course
First time at this course and I had a great time. Will definitely be going again.
fun course for the money
We had a fun time until we ran into a really slow foursome. No ranger came out to speed things up. The course was really pretty. Fun layout, and the fairways were in great shape. The greens were a little rough because players didn't fix their ball marks. Other than that, I really enjoyed it. I will play there again.
Fun course, great price
At 61% off on GolfNow this was a great deal. Our cart had GPS, but it didn't turn on. Swing by Swing app on a smart phone is better anyway. Staff was very friendly. Course was really wet, but that was expected. Since I'm such a lousy golfer, every course is challenging for me, but this one was more forgiving than most. It's pretty open and most holes are forgiving to the errant tee shot. I'm probably about a 30 handicap and I only lost four balls, so take that for what it's worth.
nice course conditions for time of year
besides cart breaking down on hole 13 and walking the rest of the way and the weather being bad (it's Minnesota) the course was a challenge and it was fun being outside. The young guys ahead of us were real slow but eventually after 6 holes someone told them to get moving.
Slowest round ever
We got stuck golfing behind handicap holders who wouldn't allow us to play through and we always had to wait on every hole. I'm fine with slow golfers but let faster players play through.
Nice shape this year.
The course is nice shape compared to this time last year. Greens rolled well. The guy at the clubhouse was friendly. Good experience!
This course is OK grade
Still season's young. I need more time to review this course. Cause of the seasonal weather conditions, grass is about to grow. After the grass is growing, this course is little bit better than now.
Nice greens
Course was in pretty good shape for this time of year
Remember to tell patrons about High School kids.
We knew it was a busy day but the course didn't inform us that high school kids would overrun the course by the time we hit the back nine.
Yes, this course has great features.
This course is definately one of my favorite ones considering many aspects.
Great staff, awesome deals on golfnow if you have flexibility with times
Great staff, awesome deals on golfnow if you have flexibility with time
The course is well maintained, greens in great shape.
Lots of variety, rolling hills, long holes, #12 probably one of my favorite holes in twin cities
Great course to play.
Fun course with many challenging holes. Large fast greens that are well maintained. Great value for the money.
Hi Kent,
I enjoyed playing with you Tuesday at Bluff Creek. Hopefully your trip back to Dallas was a good one. If you are ever in the area again and would like to play a round let me know.
