Michaywe Pines Golf Course
About
Michaywe Pines is a scenic 18-hole golf course that winds through the birch and pine forests that sit along the AuSable River. The course opened in 1972 and 32 years later the original designer, Don Childs, came back to completely renovate the course. The classic layout kept its best features but the bunkers were reshaped and deeply shouldered with lush bluegrass sod and four sets of tee boxes were crafted for each hole. There is water in addition to the bunkers, but overall the golf course is player friendly enough for beginners. The back nine is longer than the front and you'll run into more tree-lined fairways. Michaywe Pines' 13th hole is especially tight with towering pines looming on both sides, it begins a stretch of holes where the woodland landscape becomes quite dramatic.

Beautiful course!
Very nice set up! Tough but lots of chances to score! Very beautiful area!
Good Day
Visiting from Detroit area, greens were good, pace great and course challenging enough.
AMAZING!!!
The course condition was excellent. The fairways and greens were the best ones I’ve played at a public course. You couldn’t beat the price either! Will definitely play again!
beautiful
Beautiful course on every level at a fraction of the price of other Gaylord big name courses
5 Star
cannot say enough about the course and the people. Course was beautiful in every way. Will be returning asap.
Golf at Michaywe
Our group of 8 played it twice over the first weekend of August. Tee boxes, fairways, sand traps, and greens were all in very good shape. If you play it early in the day, the greens roll fast, and true. Later in the day they slow down a bit from growing, and spike marks. If you're playing golf in Gaylord, try this course out.
What a great course! My buddies and I were up for a stay and play package at Beaver Creek and this was one of the courses we selected to play.
Pros:
- Very true greens and in amazing shape!
- Many risk/reward shots
- Fairways are in excellent shape
- Sand bunkers are raked and in great condition
- Very good breakfast sandwiches
Cons:
- There are no displays of the hole layouts on the tee boxes and scorecards. Makes the course very difficult because you don't know what lies ahead especially with the rolling hills and valleys. As caution you may find yourself laying up and losing an opportunity.
My friends and I really enjoyed playing here and we will for sure play again! Now that we have played it once we can play more with accuracy.
Great course for the money
I found the course to be in great shape, open fairways, user friendly, greens are fast with subtle breaks, tough to putt, but challenging.
Great Course, Hidden Gem of Gaylord
Nice course, always well maintained, some of the best greens in the area. Course not highly advertised compared to others in the Gaylord area, but worth playing, good value. Nice layout, no real quirky or gimmicky holes, just straight forward golf on a well maintained and very fair course.
Beautiful
What a beautiful, well kept course. Will definitely play again when in the area.
Real Nice
Nice fairways and greens. Open enough in the ruff to be able to find your ball. I lost zero.
Wonderful Course
Our foursome all thought the course was in excellent condition.
The green speed was perfect, fairways wonderful, rough was fair.
