Great price
Early tee time played solo fairway and greens were fine none mowed yet though rough was 4-5 inches so finding Erent balls was impossible finding next hole was difficult very poor signage. Would not recommend even at low fee.
Hot Deal opportunity
Decided to play this course after seeing a hot deal on golf now. 25 bucks got me 18 holes and a cart. You really can’t complain with that deal!
The course plays at 6400 yards but that is a bit misleading as there are at least 5 par 3s… so it feels longer when you play it. . The greens are relatively small and were rolling surprisingly well for a mid May round.
Trees are plentiful on many holes and require the smart golfer to think about club selection on the tee box. I didn’t think, and paid the price on a few holes. The course is tucked up next to the river and though there was no flooding on the course, it was pretty soft and the rough was long. I’m sure they were waiting for the ground to dry up before mowing. Fairways were nice but some of the tee boxes could use some work.
The round took 4.5 hours and I really think it should be under 4 hours on a small course. If you get a deal, you’ll get your value from this course. Staff was friendly and helpful which is always nice.
A Little Country
That’s ok ! DR is minimal and balls were dirty! Course is in good condition and fair. Good value and friendly staff. Enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere!
Family friendly
This course is very family friendly. We took 4 of our grandkids out with 3 adults. They had special rates for the kids..
Good walking course with mature trees and some narrow fairways, and I might add, good greens.
We will definitely be back.
Another great day at Glencoe
The proshop staff was friendly, the course was in good shape. The greens were firm and somewhat fast. The course gives you strategic options and gives you great credit for hitting the ball straight.
Perfect Fall Golf
Today was a perfect day of golf, 3.25 hours for 18 holes, great fairways and the greens were faboulous. This is old school golf. Small greens, narrow fairways. Ways to get up and down. For the price this is one of the best places to play in the city.
Great Round at Glencoe
As I often golf at Glencoe Country Club I have come to expect very friendly service, a very acceptable pace of play, and a great value for the cost. This day did not disappoint. I would like to provide a call out to the young man working the check-in desk on this day. I was looking for a new putter and he took the time to show me a number of models, one of which I did purchase. It was a great recommendation as I trimmed six putts off my season’s round average. Thank you!
Great round at Glencoe
The course was in great shape, no doubt benefitting from recent rains. A little soggy on 14 and 15, but the greens were holding their moisture better than usual during the midday. Didn’t feel pushed or hurried, nice pace of play. The staff is always friendly and I look forward to my next round.
Shorter course with good greens that roll true!
The course has a quirky layout with a couple of long rides/walks to the other side of the street that divides up both the front and back nines. That being said most of the holes are decent.
Besides best part of the course is the greens. Although they are o the small side the rolled true even early in the season.
The rest of the course was in typical early spring condition and a little rough but I would play again in July when the grass has been fully growing for a couple of months
Great small town course & hospitality
Played for first time while traveling through the area and was glad I stopped. Played in September 2018 and course was in good shape. Staff was friendly. Hung out after the round for a beer and won $100 in pull tabs! If playing for first time, ask the proshop for guidance on getting to some holes as some cross a road and can be a little confusing. Overall great experience. Live an hour away but will go back for sure.
