Oak Marsh
I have played this course a few times in the last couple of years. It is a decent course and worth the money if you can get a deal. The course is wide open for the most part with plenty of sand traps and a few water hazards. The greens and fairways are fast and the course is surrounded by houses. The staff seem to be fairly friendly, but I always sseem to pick up the snobbish country club vibe from people when I do play there.
Easter
Despite the cool weather, it was nice to play with little to no one else playing. Concluded a full round in 2.5 hours! The course was in okay shape, despite the early Spring conditions. Greens were not ideal yet.
Great course to play
First time out since October of '14. A little rusty but ok. Course was in great shape. Just enjoyed being out and playing! Staff is outstanding from pro desk to restaurant! Will be back!
Great first round of the year.
The course is in good condition for early in the year. Greens and traps were in good condition with no apparent winter kill on the fairways.
Basic course
The course is usually in decent shape. A feel good about your game course because there are not to many hazards and you can swing away. Way, way over priced. Only reason I played it was because of a great deal through Golf Now.
good conditions for this late into the season
All the coolers at the water stops were empty. Greens fast and true.
Cart broke down
My cart stopped moving after hole 4. I used the gps screen to notify the pro shop. Ten minutes later the cart girl came by and called the pro shop. 20 minutes after that someone finally came and fixed it.
Great day
We totally enjoyed the course and will definitely play it again when we come back to Minnesota to see our kids. It was in beautiful shape and we had perfect weather.
Great Value
Not overly challenging, but true greens and GPS golf carts! Greens rolled true. Would definitely play again. Good practice facility.
Nice Course
Conditions were great, played 18 holes in 2:35 min. Course is easy but fun.....
Careful
Be careful to read the fin print prior to confirming registration of t-times through golfnow.com. Oak Marsh lists an early bird for $15.00, with no designation of 9 or 18 holes. You would not know for certain until processing payment.
The course was in great shape, but these days $60.00 is a little steep.
plays harder than rating
Good course. Great condition except no sand in bunkers, basically dirt and rocks. Looking at yardage and slope I was expecting a fairly easy course. Much was fairly tame but 3 par 4's over 400 yds and 3 par 3's 200+ yds along w/ some forced carries made it play tougher than expected, need to score on the other holes like reachable par 5's to compensate. Overall very impressed w/ everything but please put some sand in the bunkers.
oak marsh
course is in very good shape, very convenient, recommend for couples or different skill levels
Good experience
I've played Oak Marsh several times. It's about a 40-minute drive from where I live, but has always been worth the drive. The staff is cordial, food is good, and the course and equipment are in great shape. The course is also challenging, but not unfair. I like the design a lot. I also like the cart CPS system. I hope to play this course once or twice more this season. Pace of play was generally good. We caught up to a walking foursome on the back-nine that slowed us down a bit. Otherwise, we would have finished under four hours.
golf outing
everything was good except I think I was charged twice by golf now.
Nice course
Played Oak Marsh for the first time. It lived up to it's marshy name because of all the rain. It was in excellent condition despite the ground being soaked.
Fairways clearly marked and greens were in great condition. It seems to be a straightforward course and they give you yardage book for free. Nice touch.
The only draw back was we finished 9 quickly and then they had let people on the back 9. They were slow otherwise we would have been done in about 3 hours walking.
I also liked that it was nice walking course.
good course
overall the course is in good conditions but the sand (HA HA) traps are like hitting out of concrete.
greens smooth & good
Oak marsh heavy on the marsh a bit wet and soggy. Greens very nice, smooth and above average fast for MN. Overall a very good experience.
need to improve course condition
Green speed is little slow. bunkers are really wet mud with bad condition. too many par 3's at same distance(played from blue tee)
Pro: pace of play -4hrs. some challenge required on par 4's over 420yd+
I don't recomand this course.
Interesting Links-Style Course
From the white tees, this is an interesting course that combines very short holes, like a par 4 that is less than 300 yards, with some holes that are hard to reach, like a 433 yard par 4 and a 190 yard par 3. The fairways are fairly wide and are generally flat, without the undulations that many other links courses have. You won't lose any balls unless you go far off line on a few of the holes.
