plays harder than rating
Good course. Great condition except no sand in bunkers, basically dirt and rocks. Looking at yardage and slope I was expecting a fairly easy course. Much was fairly tame but 3 par 4's over 400 yds and 3 par 3's 200+ yds along w/ some forced carries made it play tougher than expected, need to score on the other holes like reachable par 5's to compensate. Overall very impressed w/ everything but please put some sand in the bunkers.
oak marsh
course is in very good shape, very convenient, recommend for couples or different skill levels
Good experience
I've played Oak Marsh several times. It's about a 40-minute drive from where I live, but has always been worth the drive. The staff is cordial, food is good, and the course and equipment are in great shape. The course is also challenging, but not unfair. I like the design a lot. I also like the cart CPS system. I hope to play this course once or twice more this season. Pace of play was generally good. We caught up to a walking foursome on the back-nine that slowed us down a bit. Otherwise, we would have finished under four hours.
golf outing
everything was good except I think I was charged twice by golf now.
Nice course
Played Oak Marsh for the first time. It lived up to it's marshy name because of all the rain. It was in excellent condition despite the ground being soaked.
Fairways clearly marked and greens were in great condition. It seems to be a straightforward course and they give you yardage book for free. Nice touch.
The only draw back was we finished 9 quickly and then they had let people on the back 9. They were slow otherwise we would have been done in about 3 hours walking.
I also liked that it was nice walking course.
good course
overall the course is in good conditions but the sand (HA HA) traps are like hitting out of concrete.
greens smooth & good
Oak marsh heavy on the marsh a bit wet and soggy. Greens very nice, smooth and above average fast for MN. Overall a very good experience.
need to improve course condition
Green speed is little slow. bunkers are really wet mud with bad condition. too many par 3's at same distance(played from blue tee)
Pro: pace of play -4hrs. some challenge required on par 4's over 420yd+
I don't recomand this course.
Interesting Links-Style Course
From the white tees, this is an interesting course that combines very short holes, like a par 4 that is less than 300 yards, with some holes that are hard to reach, like a 433 yard par 4 and a 190 yard par 3. The fairways are fairly wide and are generally flat, without the undulations that many other links courses have. You won't lose any balls unless you go far off line on a few of the holes.
nice track for the ego
fast play, greens were not that fast , nobody seems to fix ball marks anymore, it is not just this course, come on people, it is not the courses responsibility, my god have some class. I fixed a ball mark 12 inches from the cup
First time a charm!!
Shot a 76 in my first outing ever to Oak Marsh. Very playable course with reachable par 5's and par 3's and 4's that are begging to be birdied. The greens are forgiving and the roughs are gentle. Keep the ball in the fairway and you're in for a low round. I thoroughly enjoyed my morning there and will be back again.
First round of the year
One of the first nice days in spring '14 and of course this place was packed. The pace was slow as a result, but what else can you expect. Opening so early (we got snow a week prior) the course wasn't in great shape, but for early April it was fine.
For late in the season, course was in great shape
Enjoy the lay out of the course. Fun course to play.
Course has excellent features and a great value.
We played soon after a continuous rain and found the course, while a little under water, playable. Excellent sight lines and moderate challenges kept the our play fast. I would highly recommend this golf course.
Big bang for the bucks.
Nice, well maintained course, with GPS carts. Greens left a bit to be desired, but that was due to recent aeration. This time of year it's the norm, no matter where you go.
Very nice man in the Pro-shop!
The course was busy but not rushed. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the afternoon golfing. GolfNow is a great way to try out new courses. We had golfed here before but not this season. It was fun to return to this excellent course.
Good condition but greens a bit "bumpy" due to maintenance
Quick round with no hold-ups; greens were a bit "bumpy" due to maintenance but acceptable. Rest of course was in good shape and provides a gppd selection of shots.
this course was fantastic.I've been here about 3 seasons ago and the changes are subtle but add to the course difficulty. Loved it.
Can't wait to get back out to Oak Marsh and take another foursome.Course was in great shape this time of the season.Looking forward to coming back soon.
wide open grip it and rip it
great great great great great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Enjoyed it but was slow
There was a foursome two groups in front of us that backed up 3 groups. We ended up joining with one group to smooth things out a bit. For ex. we would get to #10 tee box as the group in front was getting on #11 tee box. We would finish #10 and they were still on the #11 tee box. This went on for the entire back 9. I enjoyed the course, but it would have been nice if there was a marshall around.
