A must play course
Excellent facility, fast true greens, a fair course.
Fantastic Experience
Visited the Park Rapids area on vacation for the first time. Often times reviews of courses I've never played are misleading and/or disappointing. Not this time . Headwaters was all it proclaimed to be.
From arrival through sign-in I was met by very friendly, professional staff members who recognized I was unfamiliar with the property. Everyone was helpful and genuinely interested in making my round an enjoyable experience .
Course conditions were far above average for a track that sees it's fair share of public play. Greens were firm and fast and pin placements were generally fair. Fairways were closely mown and rough was moderate. Traps were well maintained.
Only concern might be identification of routing (had trouble getting from 6th to 7th, wound up on 9th).
Bottom line.. if you find yourself anywhere near Headwaters Golf Club I urge you to take advantage of what will undoubtedly turn out to be a really fun round.
Water on the right!
Great course with generous sized fairways and if there is water on the hole it is always on the right side if memory serves me correctly. Pace of play was only hindered by a random 5 some on the course- played 18 holes in 4 hours and could have cut another 30minutes off without the 5 some on the last 9 holes. Front 9 if you read break play it straight; back 9 if you see a break it will break more than you think, could have been how they were mowed but it was night and day different.
Excellent shape
I have played many courses in the area in this by far is in the best shape of any courses I have played this year. I’ve played courses in Hawaii that are not in this greatest shape. I applaud the grounds crew and also customer service inside the pro shop great people
Other options
Course was fine but not for the higher greens fee. Other options play just as well, if not better, for less. Worth trying out once but I’ll go back to another favorite instead.
Beautiful course, lots of fun holes.
Headwaters is always a great course. This year it wintered pretty well, but the greens aren't yet back to 100%.The layout has a bunch of special holes, so you'll always have an enjoyable round. Highly recommended. If it was located in the Brainerd area, the price would be close to $100.
Amazing Golf Course
This is worth the drive! Best course around, always in great shape. Greens are already great and it’s May 2nd! Excited to see the new 5000sq foot patio area this summer.
Like the course
It can be slow but like the course. Don't count on staff to pay attention or marshall.
Early Season
Course was in great shape for early in the season. Was Mens Day but still played at a good pace. Friendly and helpful staff. One of our favorite courses to play!
Headwaters Golf Course
Whenever I am back in Minnesota, visiting family, I have to play this course. As it is wide open in the fairways, it is as challenging getting up on the greens. Well maintained and very accommodating staff complete the experience!
If your near Park Eapids Minnesota, this is a must play round of golf!
