Course good, pro shop staff HORRIBLE
I was very turned off by the staff in the pro shop, very unprofessional, and I think this will cause me to not want to play again. I took by 4 year old and they said I could not take her out there because she did not meet the dress code...seriously, a 4 year old that was going to ride in the cart didnt meet the dress code...she was dressed better than anyone else there! TERRIBLE!
Amazing for the $20 Hot Deal I got!
I've played this course a few times this year, it is well taken care of and challenging enough to test your skills but not so hard that a novice like myself can't still have a good time. The only downside to this course is that it is not mapped for GPS. I can't even use any of the apps on my phone and every other course I've ever played has been on an app, including my hometown middle of nowhere 9-hole course. GPS is a must in my search for the course I become a member at next year.
Good neighborhood country club style course
Will definitely go back to play this course again. We were impressed by the friendliness of the staff who made us welcome from the minute we got there. Compared to other courses in the area, Blue Springs CC was in excellent condition. Very nice fairways and greens, rough there but not punishing.
Great Greens
Starting out, I asked a friend what he thought of Blue Springs CC and he described it as "goofy". That is the only way I can describe the course also. The greens were perfect! Rolled smooth, had speed, tricky to read, not a bad word about the greens. There are a few greens that had several tiers and on tournaments days, I bet they put the pins on some serious side hills.
Tee boxes looked like they hadn't been mowed in 4 or 5 days. I chased mowers all round and felt bad because I know they have a job to do, but for the first 6 greens, then some on the back nine, I had to wait or they had to wait.
Tight, tree and house lined at times, made tee shots difficult. To the point that I missed a fairway by literally a foot and had to punch out, no shot at all.
Staff was ok, I didn't have much interaction with them except for paying for my round.
All in all, short, goofy course with perfect greens. Wait for a bargain would be my advice.
Were the tee boxes under construction?
