Lots of slope
Fun crease, tight on several holes, but still very playable.Very hilly and water comes into play on sever al holes.
The course was short, but challenging. The greens were in very good shape, fairways and tee boxes were good as well.
Being the first tee time I expected a 3 hour round of golf. I was disappointed to have a wait when we reached the 10th tee. Apparently people were allowed to play 9 holes starting on # 10 leading to waiting on every tee box on the back 9.
I would recommend this course. The 19th hole was good too.
Would play again!
Enjoyable round. Challenging course if you're used to wide fairways and spacious greens. Liked using all my clubs for a change.
Challenging
The course has every challenge possible. You will enjoy shaping shots and scoring on this course. We had great weather and others on the course were freindly as well.
Very well manucured course
Pointe Royale, or "The Pointe" as the regulars call it is a great course that is very well maintained and a great value.
This course is very nice course to play..
Try to play this course when we come down on vacation. Glad we can get good deals on golf now. Course is nice and challenging.
I hate Blind Drives
The only reason I gave an average score for course layout was because there were 3 blind drives on the course and I hate them in general. Especially on a course I've never played before. One funny kick and your ball is lost.
Good challenge for all skill levels
I arrived early for 10:50 tee time. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The course was in very good shape even though there had been a lot of play due to the holiday weekend.
I played the white tees but really could have moved back to blue. The course only plays 5300 yards fron the white tees. This is a shotmakers course. A nice change from some courses that reward distance over skill.
The carts have built in GPS which is very helpful for first time on this course.
Overall I had a great time and would recommend this course to any golfer who travels to branson.
Good Challenge
This course offers some fairly easy holes and some fairly hard ones. There are a lot of hills and you seldom end up with a flat lie. I played from the white tees and was glad on several holes that I was not playing black or blue tees as those are really challenging. Grass in fairways was a little long due to rain the previous day that kept mowers off the course. Balls hit in the rough were hard to find due to length of grass. I would play this course again.
A must Play
This is always a "Must Play" when we travel to Branson, MO. The course is easy to get to and the people are always friendly. The course is a bit challenging, but fun to play. A lot of elevation and water comes into play on several holes. Look forward to next year when we will try our golfing skills there again!
Loved it
Had a wonderful day playing and course was in real good shape
Great Shape!
The course was in great shape from the fairways to the greens... Amateurs and pros alike will find this course fun and challenging at the same time. The 19th hole has great food and very friendly staff... It was a beautiful day and a fantastic time!
Cloudy Cool August Day
The weather for mid August was unusually cool and overcast. I bought my round on GolfNow and I was paired with three strangers. I do not like playing this way and the others don't usually either. The course was open enough that it wasn't necessary and in fact, the threesome let me go on ahead; I never ran into another group until the 17 hole. The course was in great shape with the possible exception of the greens; they were beat up pretty badly. Most of the problem is with golfers who do not properly fix divots, or don't fix them at all. I found two or three unrepaired divots on each green. Golf etiquette is sacred and this is a particularly lazy habit that should not be tolerated. Marshals should police this practice better I believe. All in all, it was a great day of golf on a course I really like.
Glad I went!
I read several reviews about pace of play being a negative at this place. True, it is one of their top priorities. They have a big sign about pace of play at the 1st tee box, and about 3 reminders along the course telling you what your cumulative time should be at that part of the course, with a time reminder on the carts GPS.
There is no driving range, but there is a solo net setup for people to get loose one at a time. The food is quite expensive, $5 ham/cheese sandwiches. These are all the negatives I really have.
The course was in gorgeous condition. It wasn't the easiest course, but I didn't lose more than a golf ball or two. The people I was paired with were all very friendly and I had a great time playing the course.
Great overall difficulty...
Pointe Royale is one of my favorite courses. These holes vary in difficulty, so players of all skill levels can have a great time!!
The grill at the clubhouse has great food, so even the turn is something to look forward to.
