Amazing course with great views.
Highly recommend this course, great value for the cost. Consistent greens with some challenging fairways. Well maintained as well, this will be a new favorite course for us.
Great course!
From the second, we got into our cart, giving us a rundown of their new car with the GPS and Bluetooth hook up. Letting us know that it’s car path only the carts are tracked via GPS so if you go off the car path too far, it will stop. Just really a great course for.
Nice course
I live near Mystic Creek, so invariably I end up playing 4-5x per year. Very nice local course with 3 varying 9's. Typically in very good shape. Nice staff & the club pro, Trent, is a good guy, who also taught my son to play. The three 9's are, in order of hardness:
Meadows- pretty open, not too long unless you're playing from the tips, few forced carries. Only tough holes are 6-7, #3 is long, but, unless you hook it left, the right is wide open. #4 is a gem.
Woods- scenic 9 with an up North feel. Holes 3-9 give a real secluded feel. My favorite 9. Good mix of tough & easy holes with a drivable par 4 (#6..don't miss right!) & a good mix of "let it rip" holes & some where you need to use some finesse (#4,8)
Lakes- lives up to the name. Water on 8 of 9 holes with it REALLY in play on 6 of those 8. If you're off, this 9 is a bear & you'll lose a bunch of balls, but, it's fair. Water is clear to see, need to execute.. I've shot 42 on this 9 when I'm on & 54 when I'm off. #6 is a PGA course tough Par 3, #8 is a beautiful, but, challenging drive over a lake.
Mystic Creek review
Trent and the rest of the staff were extremely accommodating. The course was in impeccable shape considering how early it is in the season. This course will continue to be my favorite course in the Metro Detroit area for the price and quality.
Mystic Creek -- A Winner!
Fun, challenging course to play -- all 3 nines are good for intermediate level players.
Great layout also!
Beautiful course, we played late in the season and it was gorgeous. I assume its just as prestine or better during summertime!!
Pleasantly surprised
I played just the lakes nine and enjoyed most of it. Some very tight drives and water very much in play. One really silly hole (7). Greens seemed like they would have been really nice prior to aeration. Looking forward to coming back to play the other nines.
Beautiful course. Woods like up north feeling. Lakes great
Played the woods which l was like being up north.. then
the lakes...1230 on Thursday saw nobody all day... course on great shape
Aerated greens, no staff in clubhouse as we were the only ones on the course!
Cart path safety suggestion
Overall 5 star on ALL courses!
Just a safety concern regarding cart part slippery condition when wet after it rains. The path in Lakes going down to 17 is quite tricky and slippery even trying to gently brake while going down since the asphalt is getting smooth. Possibly roughen it so the cart wheels will really grab the pavement since its a steep angle downhill! Plus, Its downhill with a turn so that roughening of the surface will make it safer to descend.
Thanks for a fun course to play!
Mystic Creek
This course is way to hard for beginner or intermediate golfers!!!!! Unless you can shoot low 80s constantly and shoot over lots of water you will not enjoy this course!!!! Now saying that, the course itself is beautiful and in great condition!!!! The staff is pretty good, the bathrooms are a little dirty. Pace of play is way too fast, and the carts are GPS controlled and most have a mind of their own!!!!!
Beautiful Course and Excellent Condition!
This course has three nines, the lakes, the woods, and the meadows. I played the Lake and the Woods. The Lakes is a fun but challenging nine holes. You basically have to take out one side on every hole. For example, 1st hole the water is all down the right side and in front of green, 2nd hole there is water on both sides but more room left, etc etc. Hole 7 water on left and a slither of a fairway, and hole 8 is the most intimidating tee shot I have faced in a long time. Elevated tee, water all down the left, and dead into the wind. The woods was an easier nine but still beautiful. Greens were in excellent shape and rolled fast and true. The only negative was that I was first out on the Lakes as a single (which was great) but when I made the turn to the Woods I was behind a foursome and in front of a twosome! So they were sending people off the Woods course. But besides that the course was great and would love to play again!!
