Lakes/Woods at Mystic Creek Golf Club

Having a course with 27 holes always seems to present a problem for the starters. The mismanagement of tee times creates a situation where we were told we had to hurry up at the turn. We were “allowed “ to use the restroom only if we hurried and certainly didn’t have time to grab waters or anything from the grill. When we reached our 10th tee box there was a group of 12 people there ready to tee off. The starter put us in front of them and emphasized to them and us that we would play really fast. Made the back 9 pretty stressful!

The last time I played Mystic Creek was about ten years ago when I promised not to come back because of the rude players on the course. I had the same experience again on 7/12/19. The group in front of us were extremely slow with no golfing etiquette.

What an absolutely beautiful (but challenging) 9 holes. Course conditions were great, greens were challenging enough but fairly kind, which was a good thing given how much water you need to navigate to get there. We will definitely play again.

Pace of play was great. Even with two ladies in the foursome in front of us, we moved at a natural pace

This course is very narrow and cut up. You will lose many balls. Any confidence you had in your game will be gone. If you're a 5-10 handicap you might like it. But for a 20 handicapper like me - I will never go back.

Played Lake/Wood combo today and they kidded my rear end very hard today. Haven't lost co many balls in so many years! Well worth the money and highly recommended!!

All 3 courses are in great condition, best it's been in years. It drains well surprisingly, even after all the rain we've had. Staff is great, always accommodating. Driving range is nice too!

3 different but challenging and beautiful 9's, but what really makes this place great is the staff. Incredibly friendly and reasonable. Great management. The course goes through some tough periods but the maintenance staff always gets the conditions to bounce back. Very fast greens. Absolutely beautiful in the spring and fall.

With 3 different 9's it is like have three different courses all in one place so for people playing multiple times in a short span its a perfect destination. The staff is friendly and helpful and will usually get you on the 18 hole rotation you prefer baring that the course is not busy (which it is for the most part early in the day)

This is a nice piece of property and the lakes 9 has some really interesting holes. But the upkeep of this place has just gone down hill seemingly further and further every year. Fairways, tee boxes, greens and rough areas that should be in play we’re all in terrible shape. The greens are slower than anywhere else I’ve played in metro Detroit. The golf carts are even slower. The bunkers are filled with rocks and dirt. If you play in the morning, there’s a sprinkler going off in play on almost every hole. I’ll be back next year hoping for improvement but won’t hold my breath.

The course layout is awesome, but most of the tee boxes especially the ladies where rough. Many fairways had spotty grass or under repair.

I have played the course quite a few times the views are all always spectacular .Surprisingly some of the fairways were pretty sparse and dirt. The women's tee boxes a lot of them were bare dirt and yet the rough were so thick you can hardly find your ball little bit too long. The greens were fast. Didn't really like the starters attitude either.

I’ve played this course in the past and enjoyed it. The lakes course was in rough shape. This course needs some work to bring it back to where it was.

Played this course quite a bit in prior years, was always in ok shape, always challenging. Today the course was in terrible shape, no grass on the fairways, large mud patches and baked-out hardpan, and greens were blighted as well. The tee boxes were uneven, unmowed, and a combination of dry dirt and weeds. Surrounding vegetation was overgrown, some traps looked like ground under repair. When we asked in the clubhouse why the course was in such terrible condition, they said it's because of "the drought". Obviously, there are 20 courses within 20 miles of here that don't have the same problem, so not sure when or if management will be able to find the skill/money/manpower to get the course back in playable shape. It's a shame. Staff was friendly, clubhouse is nice, location and layout is fine, but they have really let the maintenance go.

We’ve played here dozens of times, but today was disappointing.

• The Starter wasn’t pairing golfers up so u had 4 some, 2 some, single, 2 some, 4 some, etc. 4 hours, 35 min round. Course seemed overbooked.

• A disturbing amount of the course was brown, like playing on a piece of toast. Short rough was like concrete. ( the Ranger said there were well problems)

• The Camp Dearborn people charge u $8.00 just to get into the park. I don’t remember that happening before.

Hopefully these issues will b resolved.

I recommend this course if u can get a discount rate. Full rate, not so much.
