Better hit it straight!
Great layout with greens that roll true. The bluegrass rough is unforgivable but the fairways offer ample landing zones for good tee shots.
Solid course for the money
Raised their rates in 2022, but the course is in awesome shape this year so I can’t blame them too much. They really pack them in at this course though, so pace of play has been SLOW (I’ve waited at every single tee box during the last two rounds I’ve played here).
Back when rounds were $35, I’d have said this is the most bang for your buck course in the northland, but at $50 I really think they need to consider at least adding a bev cart service. At least then groups would have company while they wait at every single tee box and fairway..
Search and Rescue
This is an executive course in the fullest sense of the meaning except for the layout. It’s not walk able. It has a couple back to back par 3s. You’ll need the driver on two holes. As of early summer 2022 you’ll need a blood hound to find your ball in the rough. It was not fun and it slows the pace of play due to the high amount of blind dog leg shots. But even when you see the ball land it gets swallowed by the this grass. You can carry the dog legs if you are confident in your height and distance. Friendly staff and nice scenery.
Best bang for your buck.
We are not great golfers and about once every 2 months golfers. This is our go to coarse bc it’s good and reasonably priced.
Hodge Friday Golf
The course is in terrific shape, unlike Shoal Creek across the street. But, $37 to walk the course? I've played this course many times and it's a crapshoot on how long the round will be. The front nine was okay at 2 hours but the back was horrible at 2 hours and 45 minutes. Including a 15-minute wait on the 10th tee. I saw a marshal once, but he apparently just rode around and did nothing to speed up play. Weekends are even slower at times. They need to do something about this.
Cheapest in Kc and it shows
Narrow fairways with rough so deep you couldn’t find ball, in poor condition overall
