No grass
Sparse grass on fairways and greens. Cart paths with potholes. Beautiful layout and design that needs a huge amount of TLC. Hopefully they put in the work for next summer.
Do not play here
Course was in terrible condition. Played here the afternoon of 8/22/2025. Brown patches and areas of crab grass growing on the greens making them impossible to putt. Cart paths are not well taken care of overall. Fairways were hard as a rock. I get that it has been a little dry lately, but unacceptable playing conditions for what they are charging you. I've played this course many times and to see it go downhill so fast is sad to see. Will not be playing The Ridge course again until they start maintaining the course. Ruined our guys trip golf outing as we left on the 8th hole. That's how bad of shape the course is in
Ridge Course: Lodge of 4 Seasons
This is easily the worst course I have ever played. Every green was 1/3 burnt and full of crab grass. The fairways were so hard and nearly impossible to hit out of. And NO putting green at all. They got us out off tee #1 30 minutes late as the second group of the day. Do not come here. Biggest waste of money.
Course is in rough shape
Overall poor rating due to the cost. They know the course is burned up and are still charging full price. The greens are shot, simply no way to get a consistent roll. The fairways are playable, but still burnt up. The staff person checking us in was typical of the "why are you here wasting my time" attitude of many courses, the starter was friendly enough and the rangers were ok. This place used to be a lot of fun to play with great folks, I hope the new owners get it back to where it needs to be.
Save Your Money!!!
This course is a shadow of its former self. EVERY green had patches that were completely unputtable, and many were more than half dirt or weeds! Cart paths could rattle your fillings out! The BEST thing I could say was pace of play was good…but that was because most people knew better than us to waste our money. Allegedly, Troon Golf is now managing this course and its sister the Cove…if so, they should shut it down for a season and complete makeover!
I liked the course but it was not in very good shape. To my surprise, GolfNow didn't advise me that we would be playing the back nine only due to repairs on the front nine. The 10th green was awful. The staff was very friendly. They need more drinking water on the course especially on hot days. Due to the condition of the course, I'm glad I didn't pay more than I did. I wouldn't recommend the course until repairs are done and in better condition. i did like the layout and the journeys between the holes.
Great course
Course itself is awesome, cart path however is abysmal
Needs lots of maintenance
I’m sure this course had a glorious past. However, it is in dire need of all around maintenance which requires a large influx of money. The greens, fairways, rough, cart paths, and carts are in poor condition now. Several tee boxes and fairways haven’t been mowed in a while. The cart paths are the worst. Major Potholes, cracks, over grown brush, just all around neglect. I wouldn’t be surprised if this course is not shut down within the next year.
The sister course at The Coves is in much better shape. I recommend playing there
Not in Good Condition
Cart paths will beat you to death. Sand traps were full of weeds and had not been worked on for some time.
Stay away
Corse was in bad shape for middle of may! Pitch marks and goose poop all over greens and fairways. Long distances between holes clubhouse was closed at 5 for spring/summer hours! Second cutting was just weeds! Would not recommend !
Terrible course condition
Save your time/money and go play another course at the lake. The course conditions were terrible from tee to green as well as the cart paths. I would not play for $20 a round and its fees are a lot higher than that. Very disappointed.
Great Course!!!
The course is challenging and the layout is awesome with some great views all around course. Very secenic and plenty of wildlife graces the course while you play from the deer and geese to even the abundant groundhogs that supervise your play. The Staff was pleasant and helpful. I highly reccomend playing this course! We can't wait to plan our next trip back there to play. The only downfall was that we had to stay on cart paths due to the excessive rain the week pryor to our outing. It slowed our pace of play but we did not get any pressure from any of the staff to speed up our play. It was as close to a perfect outing as we could ask for for our group of hackers.
Cart Paths a Disaster
Sadly, this course with a good layout has fallen upon bad times, especially the cart paths which must be similar to a wagon train ride over rough terrain. Greens were OK mostly, but the attention to damage was non existent.
I would not play this course again until the issues are addressed.

This course has a great layout with lots of elevation .
Challenging but playable it’s a fun course.
The one drawback is that this is the four seasons ‘2nd’ course that doesn’t get the attention it deserves in terms of course maintenance.
The course can be dried out at times but overall one of my favourites in the ozarks.
Played the sister course which is better kept and a little more challenging (however subtle), but choose to play this course, because of the layout. Also played Osage national and old kinderhook.
Great courses in the area. For layout I choose the ridge.
