Nice return to this course
Hadn't played the course for awhile & forgot how nice it is. Paired up with another 2-some who were very nice. We eeked out 18 in between rain on either side. Like the fact that there's not much water on the course.
Eagle Springs
I enjoyed my first round at this local course. The only trouble of the day was pace of play, which was backed up pretty bad, with wait times of at least 10 minutes at the tee box. Besides that minor complaint from a fellas who's only been playing for 1 yr. I had a great day and will be back soon! Was excited to see the course featured on Golf Now.
good course
Over all conditions from greens , fairways etc are good. fun course to play price not bad too. pathways could use some work in spots. Will be back to play again
tee box on 17 needs a LOT OF WORK
I HAVE PLAYED THIS COURSE NUMEROUS TIMES EVEN THOUGH I LIVE IN ST CHARLES IT IS A GOOD COURSE FOR THE AVERAGE TO ABOVE AVARAGE PLAYER AT A VERY REASONABLE COST
not a boring course
the greens impressed me and the layout is always keeping you interested and they had plenty of cold water throughout the course.
Good bang for your buck
This wasnt the nicest course ever but it was worth the money spent. It's not real difficult but the roughs are really thick and will grab your club. Greens in decent condition. Overall i enjoyed the course and was happy to spend less than $40 to play.
it's a good course to play
This course has nice challenges, well placed obstacles and good scenery. It's good for competition or a friendly outing.
Hidden gem
The location is out of the way but this is absolutely not a deal breaker. In fact it's probably better because of this. Great conditions with some challenging holes. Good scenery and best of all : no houses on the course. The cart path could use some repairs and I'd bring a rangefinder or gps as some of the tee boxes have conflicting yardages from the scorecard. Overall great course especially for the $$. Greens were in excellent shape - so happy to find a public course where people are diligent about fixing ball marks - and the fairways were doing better than I'd expected with recently soggy weather.
Wetness
Too much rain in the two weeks prior to playing caused a higher than normal round. The tee boxes were mush. Two inches of water some flowing in the fairways. Really a tiring round slushing through the mud and muck. Only good thing was beating my much younger brother.
CONDITION OF COURSE
Course was in terrible conditions, fairways and rough weren,t mowed. You had to keep cart on cart pass.It took five hours to play 18 holes.
Soggy, but good
It had just rained for 6 days straight, and lots of flooding in the area. However, this course drained really well. The grass was fairly tall in respectively in both fairway and rough. The whole course could grab the club head. The greens were in great condition considering all the water, and played at regular speed, which was difficult with the slogging it took to get there. The course itself was well laid out and I enjoyed it even in its soaked condition.
I wish the grass was in the fairway was trimmed a bit better, but then again I can understand that you can't cut grass well when you have a completely soaked course.
I look forward to playing here under normal circumstances.
Surprised
Was pleasantly surprise. For being really wet from all the rain the course was in good shape. Fairways and greens are in good shape. Greens were slow but rolled really good and true. This course is a hidden gem. Can't wait to play it agaim
Eagle Springs Review
Tees, fairways and greens all in excellent condition. Great value. Rough didn't look difficult but ball sat down in it. Sand traps were groomed which is unusual for a lot of the public courses in the area.
excellent course
The course is a good solid test of skills. It also challenges you to make good decisions off the tee.
Good value
The course is in average condition, with that consider also the rough spring we had! You can always get a good deal through their website or Golf Now. So it it is a good value for the money.
lacked proper grooming....
The design is very good. The necesary facilities are all in place. Why this course is not a grade A course is a real shame.
With proper mowing and weed killer this course could be great! Cloverr beds are are not an acceptable hazard to have to deal with.
I believe that this course was built on a county park with the same funds and at the same time as Quail Creek at Suson Park in South county. Quail Creek is still a grade A course. Why is Eagle Springs a double bogey???
Funky Greens
The course was in decent shape for being early in the year and having a lot of rain recently.
The complaint I have is that the greens wouldn't hold anything. My irons always stick, but not here. Only one time was I able to keep the ball from rolling off the back. The guys that I got paired up with we're having the same issue.
great shape
beautiful day beautiful greenery good conditions good company good golf
