excellent course
The course is a good solid test of skills. It also challenges you to make good decisions off the tee.
Good value
The course is in average condition, with that consider also the rough spring we had! You can always get a good deal through their website or Golf Now. So it it is a good value for the money.
lacked proper grooming....
The design is very good. The necesary facilities are all in place. Why this course is not a grade A course is a real shame.
With proper mowing and weed killer this course could be great! Cloverr beds are are not an acceptable hazard to have to deal with.
I believe that this course was built on a county park with the same funds and at the same time as Quail Creek at Suson Park in South county. Quail Creek is still a grade A course. Why is Eagle Springs a double bogey???
Funky Greens
The course was in decent shape for being early in the year and having a lot of rain recently.
The complaint I have is that the greens wouldn't hold anything. My irons always stick, but not here. Only one time was I able to keep the ball from rolling off the back. The guys that I got paired up with we're having the same issue.
great shape
beautiful day beautiful greenery good conditions good company good golf
Good course, very unfriendly staff
It was the first really nice Saturday of the season and it was very crowded so the staff may have been a bit overwhelmed. I checked in with the club house five minutes before the tee time and was scolded and told that we should have been their 15 minutes ago. We proceeded to wait a good 15 minutes for the group ahead of us to tee off because it was so crowded that the tee times were all running way behind. The course is also too expensive, there are much cheaper courses around STL that are just as good and almost half the price.
review
Coarse was in pretty good shape for this time of year
Great course
This course is wonderful. If you want to play a fun 18 holes, come to this course
The price was right
All too often, courses think they are worth more than they are for open play. Eagle Springs is one of those courses. But with through the GolfNow App, this was a good price.
beautiful layout
Great layout. Waited on deer to move outta15th fairway to play my approach.
Its OK
The layout is pretty good and the greens were in good condition for early fall. Some of the tee boxes should have been marked under repair. On the 17th, a par 3, it was so wet that I got sprayed with mud on my tee shot.
Tee Box & Cart Paths
Both need immediate attention. Tee boxes are worn and muddy no grass. The cart paths are pot holed riddled all around the main course.
Don't schedule tee time to conflict with tournament
First eight holes were good pace. Then we came up behind a tournament. There was a shotgun start that filled the course. The back nine took 3 hours to play. It is ridiculous to schedule tee times and not mention you will be playing behind a tournament. The group we played behind was terrible. They average one swing and miss the ball per tee box.
A very good outing...
One of the best maintained courses that I have played at in the St. Louis area.
Nice course
Course in good shape. Used almost all the clubs in my bag. Has some easy holes and then some challenging ones. Played here for years and will continue in the future.
great value
Course is in great shape. Rough is a little tough to find balls in. I guess I should just stay out of it.
In spite of the slow play, we enjoyed our round. Greens are in great shape!
Greens are in excellent condition and fairways are very acceptable. However, tee boxes still need attention. We were behind two players who had absolutely no understanding or appreciation of golf rules and etiquette. They drove their cart over the tee boxes and right up next to the greens. Their play was extremely slow. We were a foursome and were held up on every hole.
Beginner golfer
Pretty fun but challenging course for a beginner golfer. Will go back soon and try again.
Nice Muni Type Course for Fun Round
This course isn't going to blow your mind with postcard vistas. It will provide you a good setting to enjoy a day on the course, allowing the intermediate golfer a chance to score, while suitable for all levels.
The bunkers tend to be that famous Missouri clay type...hard pack and like playing off dirt. Other than that, the course is in respectable shape. Greens are generally large and receptive. Don't go crazy with your stimpmeter ratings, it rained the night before my round and greens were in great shape for a county run public. You can use most clubs in your bag and accurate shots get you a lot of birdie or par opportunities.
It's no "country club" experience but for <$40 always it's a great option.
FYI, try the egg n cheese sandwich for early rounds. $2.00 was never spent so well.
