Course has great greens
Eagle Springs is a public course somewhat known for its greens. No matter what the time of year or when other courses greens struggle from heat, Eagle Springs will have great greens. I rate the course as moderate given its friendly walk-able design. Though hazards exist, not easy to lose your ball, but too far off some fairways will present a challenge to make bogey. The course is always clean and well maintained and pace of play is usually good, even when lots of foursomes.
Something to do
I was able to pick up a quick nine on Sunday afternoon. The staff was very helpful in getting me on the course as well as giving me a quick overview.
The course is still coming along, however the green were very fast and not so friendly. :)
I will be visiting this course once a month as it fits in my afternoon schedule.
Looking good.
I like this course a lot. It is a challenging course without being difficult for a hacker like me.
Considering that the winter was so severe, the course was in pretty good shape. I look forward to when it warms up and the course greens up.
Course is golfer frendly
Conditions where very good considering the type of weather we had this winter
Great off season price.
It was exactly what we expected. With our weather you can't have perfect greens. We had a great time.
hard too give positive review i quit after 11 holes cus the pace of play.
harrd too give good review i stopped after 11 holes due too slow pace. used too play there a lot years before n was never that slow.
Above par value for the dollar
Although the clubhouse could really use some attention and updating, the course itself was well maintained and very enjoyable to play. Located in north St. Louis County, the course is very easy to access off of I-270. Picturesque place to play, especially in the autumn.
Course is easy to get to
The above says it all for the course. No rangers are on the course to keep a good pace of play.
One of my favorite courses to play in the STL area.
Slower play due to the holiday but it was beautiful day to take your time on the course. Course was in good condition today as well.
considering how hot its was, wasin good shape. Greens were hard but slow. Met a wonderful threesome to join who were friendlly and made it enjoyab
Great day overall (despite being over 95 degrees) Enjpyed
Course needs some maintenance
The bunkers that werent filled with algae covered water were like concrete. If a course is going to have sand they should be a top priority when it comes to maintenance
Definitely A Budget Course
Eagle Springs is a pretty average course all around. The conditions were okay, nothing terribly wrong but nothing great. There were not a lot of hazards which was a little disappointing. The staff put a 16-person group with tee times after us on the tees first, and after we waited 20 minutes we ended up just starting on the back 9 first, which was a bit irritating trying to beat the rain. For the really cheap price though, it's hard to say it wasn't worth it.
nice shape
Tees, fairways and greens are all well maintained. The course layout gives good variety.Multiple sets of tees gives a challenge to any golfer.
A better than average public course
The condition of the greens was outstanding and pin placement was challenging but reasonable. The fairways were well mowed but narrow. The first cut gave the impression of wider fairways and were cut just long enough to hide your ball. All in all, if you can control your drives you will enjoy a great round of golf, if not bring a lot of balls.
As in any public course expect delays because of inexperienced players.
Good course, always fun
Eagle Springs is always enjoyable. Fairways nice and greens always very smooth. Not as fast as usual this day for some reason. The par 5s number 2 and 11 always fun to play. Good deals on GN make this course an easy choice.
Fun course with good greens and golf practice range
Had a good time on this nice course. Has some good challenging holes and some easy ones. Good overall to play
this course is challenging and fun to play
The course was in very good condition for all the rain we had. The greens were in excellent shape and so were the fairways. Great place to play.
Fun Course to Play
Understand that this is a true Muni course run by the St Louis County Parks. That means that blue jeans and cargo pants will be in well supply and the level of golfer ranges from good to really bad. Marshalls will start and pair up people while calling out tee times but they will not enforce slow play on the course.
The condition of the course was decent. The greens were very fast considering all the rain and fairways had enough grass where you can hit off of them. It is not a gorgeous course with breathtaking holes but it is layed out nice. The course has some nice doglegs and the Par 3s have a little length to them. Overall it is a fun place to play and with the 16.00 GolfNow deal it is certainly worth a second look
Easy to Score Well, Great Value
Eagle Springs is a good course to play. It's not the hardest course in the world, but it does have an above average layout and is definitely a fun play.
My buddy and I played from the tips, which is something I would recommend to anyone who hits a consistent 250+ yard drive, but we were still able to match each others' score. (we both shot an 83 -- good score for me, average for him)
There are no really glaring problems with the course at all. Tee boxes, greens, and fairways were generally in good condition.
I will definitely be making this a frequent stop when I want to hit a good score (or at least have a better chance to do so) and am on a budget.
Challenging course, good greens, patchy rough and tee boxes
Always a safe bet in terms of course condition. A few of the tee boxes (played from blues) are crab grass. Course offers a lot of different looks, lots of elevation changes. Fairways and greens are in great shape, greens especially are firm and offer challenging puts. All around great course.
