Tx kid in town
The supposed group of 8 made the front nine a brutal pace. After stopping to get a beverage at the turn, pace was great. Most groups that were in front of us in front didn’t play the nine we did.
Disappointing Condition
Played here 3 times. Really like the layout so I keep coming back. Staff is very friendly as well. Nice clubhouse, great potential all around and gives you a “this is going to be a first class course” feel when you arrive. The only problem is conditions never match up with the price.
great time
greens in good shape a few pitch marks ,fairways most in good condition some bad spots and some bare spots around green but i love the course great layout
Great course. $$$$
Great course Great condition. A lil pricey. If you haven’t played this course or not in a while the score card wont help u. Some holes difficult due to blind shots if you dont know the course. Multiple courses .
Challenging Situation
Wonderful layout on all three courses. It's difficult to say whether course conditions are due to prior flooding or lack of resources. The rough was overgrown on both courses we played. Greens rolled well although not as true as other local courses. Lots of dry patches on fairways, greens and rough. The geese are taking over the course and making it difficult to walk without having to step in goose poop. Not at all one of my favorites. Try the three great courses in Eureka if you want a great round of golf, they are worth it.
Enjoyable and Fast during COVID crises
Thank goodness Tapawingo remained open during COVID-19. We golfers know how to keep our social distancing orders! With one to a cart, the pace of the play was steady and we finished 18 holes in less than 3 hours on the Prairie and the Maramac courses! Luckily we had a nice group of 4 that let us two play through (of course we all kept our distance from each other). The fairways are in great shape but the greens are currently going through aeration so take max of two puts and move on. :)
Tapawingo - September 2019
My first time playing at Tapawingo and was very much impressed. The fairways were perfect and the greens were just right, not too fast or too slow. On the Wednesday golf outing, there wasn't much traffic on the course and essentially had the course to ourselves. I will definitely be back once the weather warms up here in St. Louis,
Day at Tappawingo
Great layout. Need to mark distance on sprinklers or at least the 200,150,100 markers.
Still Open With The Flooding
With the recent flooding, the course has taken a beating. However, you play holes from 3 different courses to give you the best experience. Woodlands 1-9, Prairies 1,2,3,4,7,8, Meramec 1,2,3. Par 70.
These 18 holes were fine and playable. They even discounted the rate down to $55 on the weekend.
Disappointed
Due to the floods in months past, the course was in rough shape. We played a hodgepodge of 18 hole from 3 different 9 hole courses. Wish we knew beforehand.
Quiet and nice course
We played 9 holes and the paces was decent. It was fairly busy for the holiday weekend. The course was laid out nicely with par 3’s and 5’s mixed into the 9 holes well. Staff was friendly, helpful and funny...we will definitely play here again.
Rough conditions
Unfortunately due to recent flooding the course was not in good condition. Had to play holes from 3 nines in order to get 18 holes in. Would not hold this against course since normally it is in great condition and is a great track to play. Blame Mother Nature for this situation.
challenging course in excellent condition
A few holes were closed due to flooding, so I played the woodlands and a combination of Prairie and Meramec courses. Overall, I was very impressed...the course has an excellent layout...each hole seems very thoughtfully designed. There are a lot tee box options, which allow a wide range of golfers to enjoy the course. When I played the fairways, greens, rough and bunkers were all in excellent condition. It was really a pleasure to play.
