Marshals Lack
This course does not enforce their rules. They allowed a group of 5 to play an entire round on a busy Saturday never splitting them up despite multiple calls from several different groups.
They also let a walking single in ahead of several groups at the turn and when the marshals were approached they said they would take care of it, but never approached. This left our group in a position of confrontation as opposed to doing their job and having the interaction.
The course is in bad shape but I will say that’s mostly due to the flooding in the area, so that’s not really under their control.
Fun Layout
Fun course with tons of memorable holes. Condition was great for the time of year. Played Meramac and Woodlands, both were equally solid in their own way. Played Prairies in the past and loved it too. Some of the views are breathtaking. This course will test you through the bag. The best part from my perspective is that the rangers don’t f*#% around. Too many courses these days fail to enforce pace of play rules. I commend Tapawingo for doing so, keep it up! Great round!
Great winter course too!
I have not played this course in over 25 years, but the Boccardi Family has done an amazing job. End of February, and the course is in great shape. Fairly challenging, but not too frustrating.
The holes lay out nicely. It’s great to play a course with 18 uniquely different holes. Good distance marking in the fairway and on the cart path helps.
Wonderful clubhouse for a snack and a refreshment before heading out.
Tappawingo
Like the course, normally price is too high for me but winter rates are more affordable.
Played the Meramec and Woodlands, there is another 9 holes the Pararie. There are plenty of bunkers, trees, and water on the course along with tight fairways to make the course challenging.
Today the greens were firm and rolling.
They have an excellent clubhouse and practice facility.
Great Course
The course was in great condition considering all the rain we had received in the previous two days. Friendly staff in the Pro Shop and beautiful layout for 18 holes.
Dont play here
I used to love playing at this fine golf course i live live in the area every morning at around 5am÷6am they fire up there loud heavy machinery and wake everyoe up in the nieghborhood. It used to not be this way last year they didnt do that they respected the noise curfew. It seems they have no respect for there neighbors now. If your like me and hate being woken up at 5am everyday by the sound of heavy machinery dont give them your money. I will never play at your golf course again
Great Course(s)
This is an absolutely beautiful course. Our threesome played 18 holes (Woodlands/Prairies) in under four hours. I had extra time, so I played the other nine holes (Meramec) on my own. We played from the gold tees and found the course to be challenging and entertaining. Thank you Tapawingo.
Cool wet day, but solid course
My buddies and I play here fairly often. With the recent rain it was very wet, but the course was in good shape as drainage is good. There were several greens with unplayable areas, but I fully trust the groundskeepers to have them back in no time.
As always, the staff was great. We were picked up in a limo cart at our car by the starter, and brought to the carts where they loaded our bags.
All in all one of my favorite public courses in STL. Worth the $$
exceeded my expectations
We had not played here in years due to very high cost.
Thanks to a good deal on golfnow we decided to return. Course was in good shape but you have to put up with several doglegs and blind shots. We played in 3hrs 55min. on a relatively full course.
love layout price little high but u get what u pay for a few greens had bad spots but most in good shape
Course was just average
Had a OK time there. Tee boxes and fairways were ok, but the greens left a little to be desired. They were a little inconsistent and some had some grass problems. No beverage cart on a very hot day. Good clubhouse and nice staff
Average conditions but good time overall
Great to get out early in the season to Tapawingo. A nice Gary Player design in the Meramec River valley. Overall a sporty layout. Course conditions were about average for this time of year. Tees and rough will need some work before the summer season starts. The rough and waste areas were like a golf ball graveyard with lots of cracked and old balls that need to be cleaned out.
Pros: Nice layout, stylish and comfortable clubhouse with great views of the course, fast pace-of-play
Cons: Condition overall average, on the pricier side for St. Louis and conditions don't match the price, need to work on tee boxes and clean out the rough
Tapawingo
Only two problems, 1st the head pro isnt very customer friendly and a smart alac His name is Kevin Triefebach. The course has some issues with missing steps down to greens and a flooded cart path, the food was great and staff were friendly
One of the nier courses in the St. Louis area.
The course is in very good condition for this time of year. Can't wait to go back in spring.
Nice course
This course is very nice. Three 9 holes courses so you get a variety to play. Very well maintained and interesting layout. Regular price is a little steep but with Golfnow.com it was a great deal
