Hilltop Golf Course

I called the clubhouse and tried to book 18 at 3:45. The gentleman on the phone said, "no, just do a twilight round because we are busy. $36 a person. Awesome. Book it.

Well, when we got there, everything changed. The dude behind the counter rebuffed us as soon as I stated what our reservation was. He told me that he had no control over 3rd party sites. I explained to him that I called the clubhouse and he said, well someone was wrong and we would have to pay for 18. I said just book us for 9 and he said he had us locked in for 18 and we would have to pay for the full round. I said just change it to 9 and he was not having it. He ended up charging us over the agreed amount for twilight and booked us for 9, and gas lit us about the GREAT DEAL we were getting, and kept going on about how busy they were. Fine. Whatever. You got an extra like $18, but you're busy because you clearly overbooked. Justa Let us golf.

Well, that didn't even look feasible, because when we paid.... there weren't any golf carts available. We waited like 15 min for carts. When we finally get a cart, there is a line of like 20 people waiting to tee off. I informed the ranger we had a 3:45 tee time and he said that they were on a first up basis.... and he listened to an Adam Corolla podcast and did nothing. I love Adam Corolla., but not at a high volume while teeing off. We ended up teeing off at almost 4:30. Clearly they overbooked themselves and got greedy.

When we came back in after 9, he blamed us for our slow play, and said that we were the problem. No... we were backed up on every tee box, but the dude was insistent that he did nothing wrong. Like, bro. Just admit you messed up our reservation and overbooked the course. Don't blame us because your clearly off.

Whoever the 55 year old dude is with the dark hair and glasses was a total know. Dude sucks. Stop overbooking. Also, how did a bachelor party break all your golf carts on the first week? Take the money you get from overbooking your course and put it back into having at least enough carts.

I don't usually like to complain on stuff like this. I would rather bring a business up, but this right here had got me heated. It would take a lot to get me to go back.

Course was in good shape. Despite work being done to clean up trees, none of it impacted play or pace.

It’s a great open course, the staff was awesome, pace of play was good as well.

Only bad part is the greens, the holes are just tough, even putts that look like they’re going in will take a last second turn. It’s like the lips of the holes are all flanged out

If your gonna charge 46 bucks to play in winter at least send someone out to blow off the greens that's not that hard to figure out but if you know you don't have to and don't care then I guess there you are

I appreciate the course being open middle of winter. That being said if your going to charge 46 bucks in December the least you can do is send some out to blow off the greens of pine needles and debris . Just seems like the easiest thing to do probably 5 minutes per hole and only about 6 holes even needed it.

Can't beat $23 for 18holes and a cart! Course was challenging, especially the greens. Only complaint would be the tee boxes were a bit in rough shape, but didn't really affect me.

Nice contour changes, refreshing to play instead of flat east side courses. Worth the drive

Nice change of pace from the flat courses on the East Side which we normally play. Only suggestion is water tee boxes after period of no rain like we are having.

At $41 for 9 holes I expected more. Could have played 18 at any of our beautiful metropark courses for that. Many off the tee boxes were in rough shape.

My son and I golfed this course for the first time. Unfortunately, we were immediately behind a corporate event so pace was slow (so don’t hold my pace rating against Hilltop). Course was very well maintained and challenging. It is one of the more expensive options in the area, but given course condition we didn’t mind paying a little bit extra. I do highly recommend.

If you want to wait 30 minutes to play each hole this is a great course. The ranger does nothing but drive past the 3 groups of people waiting at each tee box without saying anything to the people in front of them. Greens and tee boxes are in bad shape due to people not fixing divots. Greens are unfair with pins being placed on slants that make it nearly impossible to make any putts.

Fairly short course but you need to shape shots and know where the flagsticks are located . Problem: All the flags are the same color(yellow)! So, if hitting uphill or from longer distances it’s just a guess. Problem: The greens are mostly on hills and you need to stay below the pin but you don’t know if they are front, middle or back. 🙄🏌🏻‍♂️Otherwise pretty strategic course ( fairway 13 and 6 need some maintenance) If you put well here it is a great accomplishment!
