If you want to wait 30 minutes to play each hole this is a great course. The ranger does nothing but drive past the 3 groups of people waiting at each tee box without saying anything to the people in front of them. Greens and tee boxes are in bad shape due to people not fixing divots. Greens are unfair with pins being placed on slants that make it nearly impossible to make any putts.
Challenging Greens
Fairly short course but you need to shape shots and know where the flagsticks are located . Problem: All the flags are the same color(yellow)! So, if hitting uphill or from longer distances it’s just a guess. Problem: The greens are mostly on hills and you need to stay below the pin but you don’t know if they are front, middle or back. 🙄🏌🏻♂️Otherwise pretty strategic course ( fairway 13 and 6 need some maintenance) If you put well here it is a great accomplishment!

Terrible from Starter to pace of play.
This course habitually Overbooks & does nothing to remedy the terrible Pace of play. Ranger & Starter don't do anything to encourage players to move along. Players don't get paired up with other pairs. It took 1hr+ to play the 7th, 8th & 9th holes alone. Greens are chewed up & abused by players. Greens mared from club slams & unfixed ball marks. Great place for beginners. Not great for golfers who like PoP, decent Greens & Tee boxes. The place is a Cow Pasture & a Goat Track, on a Farm. Customer Service is a shoulder shrug & a palms up attitude. If you suck at golf or new to golf, you might enjoy yourself at the Down Farm.

Pace of play issues
Tee time was 9:26. Didn’t tee off until almost 9:40. Had to wait for about 5-10 minutes per tee box. Girlfriend even had to leave for work after 9. We would have had well enough time if pace of play was up to play full 18.
Course has a bunch of lay up par 4’s. Not my style as I bought a driver for a reason. Course was maintained well and the ranger was super nice.
They did compensate us for a “refund” for my girlfriend’s 9 due to the pace which was appreciated. Would play course again if I can’t get in at my other places In the area. I feel there are plenty of courses in the area with better value for price.

Too bad
I wanted to like Hilltop (price is reasonable & the staff is really nice.) Unfortunately the layout is cramped, the greens are pretty poor, pace of play is slow and it's just a bit substandard as a golf course.
It's short and probably good for beginners. The people really are nice. So kudos there. Greens are super soft, not in good shape and most of all are so hilly in spots that it's unfair and not enjoyable. And that harms pace of play in ways that don't make sense for muni.

Aptly Named
This is a very hilly course with some impossible pin placements. There are also some very narrow fairways. The combination of these conditions makes it very difficult to score.

Good for the money if you can get a deal
Overall this is your standard muni course. Course conditions are average, a few wet spots and ground under repair, but nothing to complain about. The practice green is small and tight, but gets the job done. The best thing this course does is pace of play. Course was booked pretty full on a weekday, and I finished my round as a solo in just 3 hours 20 minutes. $60 prime rate is pretty steep, but I played for $35 and was satisfied.

Don’t waste time
Pace of play was awful, 7:12 tee time and it was a 5 hour round. A few greens had pelts taken out like someone had taken an iron shot off the green, no ball marks on the greens were fixed, all pin placements were about 5 feet off the fringe in spots where if you go a foot long or short you’re rolling off the green or back down the hill leaving the same if not not longer putt, played here once 4 years ago and then today and will not be back. This course is not worth the $60 for 18 holes.

Less than 2 hours for 26 putts
Greens were a bit unfair. Pin placements had balls rolling backwards if you didn’t reach hole. Fairways in good shape, rough not too bad. Finished 9 I. 1:45 - and didn’t rush.

Golf Course ⛳️ is coming to fruition. Landscaping contractors are doing a great job bringing course to fruition. Cattails team also needs to be acknowledged for selecting the right contractors that are working diligently on the golf course
