About
Lake Erie Metropark in Brownstown sits along the shoreline of its namesake lake. The location is a popular bird-watching spot with more than 300 species recorded. Golfers might catch a glimpse of a bald eagle and broad-wing hawk sightings are almost definite since the area is one of the best hawk-watching sites in North America. The golf course sprawls across gently rolling terrain and is routed through natural wetlands and forests. Towering trees line the fairways and water comes into play on a few holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The golf course is a manageable 6,472 yards from the back tees. Lake Erie Metropark's challenges are mild enough for high handicappers but there are still some interesting holes that will keep the avid golfer entertained.

Pace is awful
Left after 4 hours and only 13 holes because pace was so awful. No monitoring of pace, no pairing people together. A miserable experience. Do not go on a weekend or holiday unless you like 6 hour rounds. Weekdays it’s a good value and pace is ok.
Slow pace
Course was extremely wet. Cart path only slowed pace of play to a crawl.
Tee boxes and fairway conditions were the worst I've seen at this course. Hopefully the grass will improve in the next few months.
For early March course was in great shape. Grass cut, greens cut, pressed and rolled. Staff is doing an amazing job.
5th visit this season
Sue Nyquist designed some very nice golf courses for Metropolitan Parks and recreation. I've been to all but one of them and they are all great. You really can't go wrong at any of the Metroparks golf courses. I might volunteer to work here or Willow next year, I'll probably save some money lol
A Great Experience
A course worth checking out. Secluded layout mixed with abundant wildlife. Well managed fairways and large greens with water/marshlands coming into play on every hole. Check out #3 and #6, good luck!!

A little buggy but overall great course for the money and the staff is amazing
Due to time of year.
Mosquitoes were insane after 4pm. We came at the wrong time. Book early.
